My father was a Marine and served in the Pacific during WW2. I am planning to visit his grave in Tennessee next week, but will probably never visit the location of actual battles -- it's very upsetting to think of all those kids who died so far from home.

Born on Guam, now live in Seattle, and been to Tinian. Visiting all those battle sites take you back in time. Seeing the shell holes and bullet ricochet marks show how intense the fighting got sometimes. You get a deep appreciation for the time period and how difficult life was back then, yet we got past it and are hopefully better as a result!

That episode was the mash-up of You Tube and podcasts my 8 yr. old son and I needed. We are huge fans of both channels. So much fun!

My dad served with a third Marine division in World War II. He took me to Guam, Saipan and Tinian when I was a teenager. He served in the Guam campaign. I probably won’t ever make it, but I’d love to go to Bouganville. He served there too. Tough fights, both of them.

I live in Kent in England and everywhere you drive there is 2ndWW pillboxes by the side of the road. If you walk through virtually any old woods you find concrete structures that were either bunkers or antiaircraft gun emplacements. Every other day in summer their is a Spitfire or Hurricane buzzing around. You would love it.

I was lucky enough to have visited many European battlefield's. When i was stationed in, Germany. For me, not to do it would have felt a little disrespectful.

Was on board the Big-E 88-91. Me & 8 shipmates were in the Philippines and checked off 10 dives in 3 weeks, diving on wrecks. Probably the best adventure I've ever had.

I would like to take a trip to the battlefields but that probably won’t happen.
Instead I used my VR headset and google earth to go to Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Iwo Jima and a host of other island
I was amazed at how some of islands have been built up.
