I really appreciate you making this content. I found it really difficult to find many well made walkthroughs of the battlefields of WW1

Just a lovely and moving look at a slice of the Somme. Thank you. Also, thanks for shooting in such a way - that I got a real feel for the lay of the land that you just can't get by looking only at maps.

Thank You for the respect, accuracy, and hard work you pour into your videos. The legacy of these brave soldiers is safe in your hands! I will do my best to share what I have learned from you over here in the states!

Hello 🙂 Thank you for sharing this interesting video, it is appreciated.
I'm here after watching a documentary from Channel 4 on the battle of the Somme.
Where some of the stories about the people featured in your video are told.
Keep up the great work with your masterful story telling.
Sending you hugs from New Zealand. 💕

I have a distant cousin who went missing at Château-Thierry. His wife tried for decades to get answers. At one point she was told that he was burried at the cemetery and given a plot number. Turns out it wasn't true, and she had been mislead. He is listed on the wall of the Aisne-Marne chapel.

I would absolutely love to quietly walk around with you and have you explain things and sit down and just somehow get a feel for the place. U can’t ever get their feelings but just being there in quiet reverence is a privilege..

Thank you for covering this. Such a terrible loss of life but that's war, I guess. My great uncle Reginald France Addison name is on the Thiepval Memorial, he died 12/10/1916, I believe around Albert.

This needs to be shown in aerial, oblique angle photos.

When you think about it, the names on the Thiepval Memorial represent the population of a Town or City being wiped off the face of the map.

How did the British get to the "Sunken Lane"?

Late to the party so to say. Great description of what is happening. As history says, 10, 000 men died in this crater, i think "history" needs to be re-assayed. Thats a whole Brigade lost in that mine hole? NOOO. Maybe a few hundred at most. That's the thing that really annoys me, inaccuracy. Its not needed.
