I'd say Phantom Puppet is worse than Springtrap, as Springtrap is a cold and calm serial killer, which gives his slower jumpscare a reason to exist. Phantom Puppet doesn't have a real reason to just stand in front of you for seventeen seconds.

I do like Mangle's jumpscare in FnaF 2. Probably my favorite out of that game, I like how they dive straight at your head from the ceiling.

I just love all the different ways people talk about Springtrap’s jumpscare. Like, you get the people who notice the subtle fear factor behind it by recognising Springtrap’s backstory as a cold-hearted killer who doesn’t need theatrics, because as soon as he’s got you, you’re already finished.

And then you get the people who think he’s absolutely fucking stupid. “He is walking towards you to shake your hand” got me wheezing. It’s both intimidating and laughable at the same time. Springtrap’s lurking about and shit is more scary than his actual jumpscare, which is what made FNaF 3 so scary for me, amongst many other things, but his jumpscare…

Here’s why I think springtrap’s Jumpscare is the way it is and why he acts the way he does: he still has the mind of William Afton, a killer who managed to kill dozens of kids without getting caught by any of the security. So thats why he hides. As for his jumpscare, well the he's still William afton, and killers don't pop up at the victim and scream waving arms around, they are very quiet and calm, as to slowly lure away the victim. Ruined Daycare Attendant has the best jumpscares in my opinion. They have two unique jumpscare animations depending on how many generators you turn on. but unfortunately some players may miss those details since you're not supposed to approach the Daycare Attendant until after all the generators are turned on

The only reason springtrap has a bad jump scare is because the springlocks went through his jaw which locked it in place so he cant really open it

Just in terms of stress it brings getting jumpscares by the puppet even after desperately winding the music box or getting jumpscares by foxy because you cant take off your mask or the other animatronics will get you but now you cant flash your lights? Thoese are freaky. But that's mostly build up (tho also the way the puppet comes at you always TERRIFIED me)
