The Conscious Breath, Episode 5: Harnessing Prana

In this week's class we will recap the five pranas, and discuss different ideas on what prana is, and how we can work with it to increase our health, wellbeing, mental capacities, and connection to the subtle life-force that sustains us. The practices that we will do, and that you can use as homework for the upcoming week until our next class, are:

Resonance breathing 6/6 ratio for 8 minutes
Single nostril breathing 2 minutes on each side with a 6/6 ratio
Kapalabhati 3 rounds of 10 pumpings
Alternate nostril breathing 1:2 ratio for 5 rounds
Slow breathing, 2 minutes, with an extended exhalation
Rest

These are entryway practices into greater control over your nervous system, moods, and energy levels, based on ancient techniques from Yoga. All levels are welcome.

Eddie Stern has been practicing and teaching Yoga for over thirty years. He has been studying with masters in India since 1988, engages in scientific research on Yoga, runs yoga and meditation programs to help reduce gun-violence in inner cities, is an author, and teaches daily yoga classes online. Eddie has been collaborating with Deepak Chopra since 2011, and his earlier video series on the Chopra Well is "Urban Yogis”.

Thanks Eddie again for this beautiful lesson. I start to lean about PranaYoga with you a month ago thanks these free weekly lesson.
They are gems and you are a truly Boddhistva ! The way you teach is really authentic and we can feel that you have not only the knowledge but also are a practicionner.

When
I was doing the alternate breathing . Why do I feel a pumping sensation on you forehead. Is this normal? And what does this means?
