Assigning Keyboard and Joystick Commands in X-Plane 9.xx

The new layout seems to have a few people confuzzled so I thought I'd put together a quick demo video with Scenic-Flyer as an example to show you how it's done.

PLEASE NOTE! I don't work for Laminar Research. I put this video together to try and help fellow flight simmers. Nothing more.

If you're using a different USB slot each time or plugging the stick in after you start X-Plane, the way Windows enumerates USB devices might be causing X-Plane to not recognise it as the one you used last. Try keeping it plugged in between sim sessions.

@cacneaunit6 I meant view the YouTube video full screen. If you want to run X-Plane full screen, move your mouse to the top of the screen so that the menu options appear, select 'Settings' and then 'Rendering Options'.

Near the top of the screen you'll see a checkbox to make X-Plane run in full-screen mode. hth !

Have you assigned purposes to each of your joystick axes in X-Plane? go to the Settings | Joystick and Keys menu. You can set them there.

It's not a game, it's a simulator. There's a huge difference. Although it might seem like a steep learning curve at first, it's well worth the effort.

It's far from crap. X-Plane has been used by some of the biggest aviation companies on the planet, and with good reason. I've seen flight data from X-Plane compared to flight data from very expensive commercial sim's - and the data matches. For Joysticks, just go to the "Settings" menu, and select "Joystick & Keys". Wiggle your stick to see which axis is which, and then select the operation appropriate to each axis. It's not hard.

I'm having the same problem petitus90. How annoying. I'm returning it to the store and taking the hit on some of the cash but sheesh this is nuts the joystick or flightstick was one of them cyborg x ones like the fly or whatever and with the x plane 9 game it's not responding to nada and I ain't go the patience, time or money for this crap. I'm returning it.

i have the demo and every time i close the game and reopen it, i have to reprogram the joystick, is there a way to save?
