So how much does it REALLY cost for me to build an Iron Man suit to sell? Let’s crunch some numbers!

That’s actually a fair price. I was thinking round about 10, 000 to 15, 000 if you add the working mask

As a professional artist myself, I can tell you that you are being very nice to charge that much for a suit. I would charge double that price for your time.

In a nutshell, this is a hobby not a business lol

10k for a high-quality Ironman suit is fair. This is comic-con level cosplay, not a cheap Halloween costume.

The best think to take away from this is when he said " I do value my time your going to pay for it"

That price tag is the very reason I got into hobby level printing. My stormtrooper suit would have cost $3, 000 I made mine custom fit for less than $500.

The knowledge that you provide on your channel plus the value of wearing something that you made and worked on yourself is way more valuable than any suit that I could ever afford to buy. I definitely agree that you’re in the right market 🤙

All of us saying 10k is a good deal knowing damn well none of us will have that much extra cash 😂

Bruh $20 an hour is an absolute steal. A solid low five figures would be a steal

I've never seen a creator break it down so frankly! Artists! Don't be afraid to value your work! Thanks for the vid!

Dude really did a full price breakdown. Low key commenting so if I ever get rich I can pay you $10k for a suit haha

Thank you for actually mentioning residency time on your printer. $1/hr is actually way less than I typically charge for lower value items, but I could see a discount that far down on a huge project budget.

What about making the raw kits un-sanded and un-painted pieces if we don’t have access to a 3D printer🤔

10k for a full Iron Man suit of that quality is still a really good price

True transparency about where evey part of the price would come from and why. This is what all companies or artists should do for a custom project like this! Gives a price, gives a reason, and that makes it fair.

I think the disconnect is that people are used to mass production prices. If these were plastic injected into metal dies you'd bypass most of the time and steps (labor) up until painting (you could use the appropriate color plastic for the more basic parts and save time/money there, too).

But in order to justify the insanely high price for that process (machines, metal dies, creating the original model to mold) you'd need to sell a *lot* of them, and it'd still be pricey.

I would pay for that honestly. My youngest son’s high school annual tuition is about 30 000

15k minimum very limited amount of people that can do this. Anyone that has mastered any skill should charge between $50-100 per hr

I think it’s fair to compare prepping and painting the suit to how much it would cost to prep and paint a car. Easily 10K and they aren’t doing printing and wiring.

$1 per hour of printing time is quite a discounted rate. I sell 3d prints at a rate of $3 per hour of print time, and people keep telling me my prices are too low.
