One rein to pull the head around helps a lot too. Harder to buck hard in a tight circle.

⚠️READ THIS BEFORE YOU LISTEN⚠️
So I have 3 horses, and not one of them consistently puts their head down to buck. It’s absolutely not necessary for them. Your horse will not always buck with their head down. And if they go to buck sometimes pulling the reins will cause them to throw their head down and you’ll fall off. Instead keep a forward momentum, sitting deep and kicking lightly. Once they calm down pull a tight circle, back up, and do it again!! Hope this helps!!

Pov your horse bucks without putting her head down😂

This absolutely the opposite of what I have been taught. By pulling, the bit can actually act like a fulcrum causing you to go over their head more easily. Instead you should keep your leg on to keep forward motion because your horse can’t buck/tuck their head and move forward at the same time.

Depending on the horse's training and how "lively" the bucking is, I usually signal a reinback if I can. It sometimes helps. Could also be from pain or if they're anxious so sometimes it's just good to get off and settle them. Again it all depends on the scenario! It could even be from pain.

And always remember, there could be a reason, your horse could be in pain, etc.

What most people don’t believe is that you need to bring your hands to your CHEST. THAT far up and back will assure your safety, but leaving your hands low or off your body will leave you vulnerable

Ehhh kind of. You probably should actually turn them into a circle to disengage the hind quarters 😅 pulling back the reins hard could cause them to freak worse and end up stressing them out more and pulling you out of the saddle or even flip backwards 😅 I feel like the safest option is to turn the horse in a tight circle.

I’ve only had horses buck with me twice, I’ve had more rears, but still it has happened. The first time it happened it was 2016 when I was turning nine and I was riding a lesson pony. And I was cantering with her when she pinned her ears, ducked her head and started bucking. I held onto the horn, squeezed with my legs and held on for dear life lol. I started slipping to the right side but I managed to stay on the whole time. My mom and trainer ran out and stopped her before pulling me off. Best part is that all the cowboys in the arena were cheering and whooping for me so that’s funny. Second time it happened was back in 2021 when I was fourteen. I was riding my mare, Jasmine bareback and galloping in the field when she kinda kicked out. I didn’t fall off surprisingly cause I was bareback, but I didn’t get mad at her. I just started laughing.
But yeah, whenever a horse goes to buck with you, they usually tend to kinda scrunch up so tighten your reins and keep their head up so they can’t buck as well. They still can they just can’t buck as hard. And then pull them into a tight circle and get off.

I straight just pull in the tightest circle without hurting him possible

I totally agree I see all these videos of horses bucking and everyone says stop pulling but if you don’t pull what do you do get injured

Am I the only one that just sits there.. And does nothing.. And wait patiently for them to stop bucking before continuing the ride like nothing just happened..? Idk that works for me (I'm just a passenger princess 😂)

Alternatively you can stop both rearing and bucking with a tight circle repeatedly...
