Only know this cause I'm a nurse, but if you were to help someone in a emergency situation and made it worse( obviously not intending to do so) you cannot be sued or held liable AS LONG as you do NOT receive compensation for the gesture! It is called the Good Samaritan

Try to knock someone out on grass or something else soft besides concrete if you can. A relative of mine had to go through the whole second degree murder trial scenario when he got into a bar skirmish. He knocked the guy out, he went down hit his head and never regained consciousness. Ended up being found not guilty on grounds of self defense, but it still sucks to have to go through all of that shit.

This is a great video- people need to understand what you are saying here. Head injuries are no joke, the spine is almost invariably involved- as well, breathing stops for a split second when the brain is stunned.
I’ve been knocked out twice- both from a fall to the floor during a fight- ( one time I actually slipped on some standing water in the midst of the action, and caught a push kick to the groin while slipping- took my feet out from under me 😒 ) both times I injured my neck irreversibly.
People think knockouts are funny- they are seriously dangerous.

What an awesome video Shane, thank you for taking time to inform the public a few things to add though (none of this is legal medical advice)
1. TRAINING IS KEY, seriously if your reading this take a AHA CPR class and a basic first aid class, proper care will save someone's life
2. As a few people have mentioned you cannot be charged for improper care in most states, as they have good Samaritan laws that protect you, PLEASE read your local regulations and laws
3.DO NOT regularly open the airway in a unconscious person with c-spine indicated, you should take a medical class where they will teach you how to jaw thrust maneuver
4. If the person does not have a spinal injury, recovery position is referred as it maintains the airway
5. If you open the airway and something is blocking it, you can finger sweep but never go past what you can see
6. As Shane mentioned if the person is laying prone try to get them supine so you can access carotid pulse and airway, DO NOT role them over regularly you need to maintain stabilization of the neck if you believe the person had a neck injury
Finally this list could go one for a bit, take proper medical classes, proper care will save someone and no amount of text reading will replace the priceless hands on information you receive in class
