I had a hypoglycemic attack at work, and my co-workers all stood around confused as I asked them to fetch me some sugar or candy. I was like, I'm the one having the medical emergency but why are you all stunned and panicked to the point of not actually helping???!? Where were the jellies!!! Thankfully one of my co-workers who happened to have a diabetic son, ended up walking into this scene of me sweating and my eyes starting to roll around and she immediately ran and got me some candy. I definitely started carrying glucose tabs at all times on me after that nightmare.

Glad I always bring a bag of emergency jelly babies with me in case a stranger on the street begins to go into hypoglycaemia

Instead of sweets, try a juice or Coke. My mum is diabetic and when she had a severe episode, it really helped as she was barely conscious and could easily swallow the liquid. It’s also easier to administer if you need a strangers help.

My friend is diabetic and his blood dropped to 1.9 when he was at my house because we always go on the trampoline so I decided to watch this video even tho it wasn’t one of my links from school

I have always been taught that during a hypo you get them something high in quick release sugar and then once they're able, give them something high in carbs as slow release sugar. If they get a hit of fast release sugar but nothing to keep those sugar levels up, they'll go back into a hypo

I’ve had very bad episodes, so I kinda live with the constant fear that a low sugar episode might occur. Watching this helped me understand what’s the best course of action

Afraid this left me little better prepared than I was beforehand; hope they're carrying a test kit & are coherent enough to tell me what to do!

I had this symptoms for around 20 years, sometimes almost completely losing consciousness only because I didn't eat something. I explain to the GP doctors 3 times and they never know what's that. They send me for a blood test [but never check the sugar] and say that I just might be little bit anemic. They spend so many years in those medic school and are not able to even learn basic symptoms for diabetic. I had to learn myself how to come to mine own rescue based on years of experience. Actually, eating something sweet makes me seek and it's kind of "too late" thing. The best thing is juice. It takes many hours [sometimes 3 days, depends how sever is the episode] to recover. For so many years I can't never let myself go hungry and as time progress it gets worse.

I always bring with me candy or sweet drink. One time I forgot to eat, I almost blacked out and seen some stars...but when I ate, I felt better. Thanks for the informative video. 😊

this video is great, but it would have been better if at the start you explained the meaning of hyper/hypo ("hyper means to much, hypo means to little")
