Trump’s New FCC Nominee is a Bigger Industry Shill Than Ajit Pai

Donald Trump’s FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is waging a war on net neutrality, and it seems as though he’s unwilling to back down in spite of the overwhelming public support in favor of net neutrality. However, Trump has nominated another Republican to the FCC and he may prove to be the last nail in net neutrality’s coffin even if we're able to swing Ajit Pai. Trump nominated FCC General Counsel Brendan Carr, who not only served as legal councel to Verizon and AT&T, but worked with organizations that lobby on behalf of the industry.

This is exactly why the MSM is continuing the conversation about Russia. Mike you hit the nail on the head, when they are screaming about imaginary things that will never have an effect on us instead of protecting and informing our most valuable resource (Internet.)

Best part is that these nominations aren't Trump's ideas. He's going off a list that's given to him. So much for being a trailblazer!

Tuesday, July 15th marks the end of the first round of public comments in the FCC's Open Internet Proceeding. During the past 60 days, the Commission has received a large number of comments from diverse parties, reflecting widespread public engagement. Consumers care about protecting and promoting Internet openness and we welcome their views on how to do so. Gigi B.

If you don't want our protection (regulation) on a free internet; uncensored or to be held ransom to pay more (slowing down your internet speed) by removal of net neutrality than you NEED to be going to FCC website and filing a complaint on this bill (17-108). I've done this more than once and I've hounded my friends to do the same. Do not stand idolatry by watching this protection removed.

It's not enough to try our hardest. It's enough that we win, that's what matters. I fight to get what I want, keeping net neutrality, not scream in impotent rage at a brick wall that'll take net neutrality away from us anyway.

Can the Court do anything? Surely this goes against the Administrative Procedure Act since it's so capricious...

wait if they legally have to listen to the what the people want, when maybe theres like some lawsuit that can be filed or something about it if they do this

We are just fuckin done! We are so damn powerless in all of this! The only option left is to only prepare for the worse and fight back when it gets really bad! Fighting now it seems doesn't seem to slow down anything!

At this pace, the FCC won't be bipartisan much longer.

I didn't know it was possible to be more unfit for a job than Ajit Pai in the FCC.

Nothing is set in stone and nothing is permanent.
The best thing we can do is get people to vote better, and vote in the right folks in the future.
Things only stay in favor of good people when we have the right officials elected in office.

Our best hope will be in the Court who hopefully will declare the rollback in violation of the Administration Procedure Act.

Regardless, the only fight worth fighting is a fight we can win. So don't bring your pessimism here because you'll simply kill the attitude.

An argument for the death of net neutrality i saw from 4chan /pol/:
"Maybe it'll finally make me stop browsing 4chan and make me look for a job."

I thought the conservative mindset is that we shouldn't suffer for others personal, bad decision.
