Not all things can be done alone but if you use the power of leverage and think outside the box you can do about anything. Always try because if you never try you already failed. If you try and fail it’s not failing it’s learning how to do it better the next time. Your family needs you to try because determination will go a long ways.

Many Thanks friends until the next time

I am applying to a few garage door installer/service positions.. I am a HVAC installer and have been for a good while now but I am looking into switching over to garage door installs. Thanks for sharing so I have a better idea of what I would be getting into.

hey brother, love your content! I also install garage doors, after we finish installing the trim, door, and opener, we just wipe off our fingerprints with Black Magic Tire Cleaner, we call it the magic eraser lol. me personally i don't mind taking another 5 minutes to clean up my work and make sure it's perfect for the customer. Much respect! Keep up the great work!

Nice install, I DIY my own doors completed the 8'x9" and the 10'x9' and have a 12'x12' to go just have a 12ft ladder so hanging the the roof pitch horizontals is going to be a chore...

Pool noodles or foam pipe wraps work great to cover the top rails of the scissor lift to prevent damage to the garage door pans from getting damaged when setting them on top rail. For measuring weather strip by myself I measure to the center of door opening make a mark and then measure from the other direction to the mark add the numbers together to overall length and then for the sides I measure down 10 inches from the top of opening make a mark and then measure from the bottom up to the mark and then add those numbers together to get my overall all length.

Ummm... here I thought my new garage door vertical brackets both were about 2-3 ft too long and just now realized they ARE the horizontal brackets. I figured the curve would be the wall one. Thanks for the video as I am installing mine this weekend.

great tips, I too bring folding tables for hardware and tools. A great tip for hanging horizontals is to wrap a synch style dirt bike strap around the trusse(s) and the horizontal track to support the weight until the back hangs are installed. You can also throw a level on them and adjust before you tighten the flag bracket and stiffener hardware.

my doors were just installed. I noticed that they pinned the door panels to the wall with bent over nails first, then put the tracks and hinges on after . the guys that do them every day have optimized technique.

Have you ever installed the 20 ga version of that door, the 200-20?

maybe you have the rollers in the wrong carrier on the bottom corner bracket? carrier closest to the section would be for 2" roller. did it seem a little tight trying to close it?

Do you ever use reverse jamb angle weather seals on your commercial installs?

Hey Dave great video, hey I noticed that you 12 inch radius track on this door. I was wondering for a job I've got coming up if I can install 12 inch radius with 11 inches of headroom. Wondering what your thoughts would be on it. The door will be manual and have never have need for an opener. If it does I would probably install a jackshaft lol. Let me know what you think and have a good day.

and blame the door guy for the wavy foam stop because of crappy metal work. 😜

Why stack the doors when you can hang the verticals on measurement alone 9ft doors I hung the tracks at 116" and it worked out ok. why stack the doors before you secure the tracks... btw my floor is level.
