I've heard more people that actually have BOTH of these cars as their duo instead of cross shopping. Between the two of them they kinda give you the best of both worlds. The Tesla is for daily driving. Comfortable. Quiet. Shorter drives. Save on gas. Then the 4Runner is for long drives. Adventures. The 4Runner is bulletproof, and they will both hold their value like crazy.

I have a 2003 forerunner that I’ve added bigger tires and improved suspension. I recently bought a model Y as well. I am blessed as I have both vehicles so I can do all of the things you mentioned. The model Y is by far the most fun car to drive, but it’s great to be able to take the forerunner on off-road adventures as I live in Utah, which has great off roading. And yes, I get about 14 miles to the gallon, driving 70 miles an hour 😮Love the channel and always look forward to your presentations 😂

Loving these comparison videos. The lease for my Model Y LR is almost up, so these videos are gradually convincing me to purchase an MYLR next time around.

I owned the 3rd & 4th gen 4 runners for a combined 15 years and 500k miles. I now drive a 2023 Y with no regrets.

16:05 you’re in 1st gear there. S4 stands for sequential 4, which means the transmission will shift from 1-4 and will not go to 5th. If you go to S3 it will shift from 1-3, etc.

“Starts off in 3rd or 4th gear”… I have never been in an automatic that does that. When you have those “gears” selected it means it won’t shift to a higher gear above the one selected but the shifting should be normal up to that point. So it should still start in first and work it’s way through the gears normally and then hold the gear you have selected (basically using engine braking on a decent)

Was considering the same. I went with the 4Runner. Reliable and Toyota is doing away with that powertrain after next year. Snagged one while I can since electric cars will be around for years to come

I think the next video should be comparing a Tesla Model Y vs. a Subway 12" Tuna Sub with extra pickles. I've been looking into both and having a hard time deciding which to go with.

I own a 2012 4Runner that is lifted etc. I also have a 23 Model Y long range. Both are great vehicles but… The longer I own the model Y, the less I drive the Toyota. It is getting harder and harder to justify 16 miles per gallon…

I’d love a 4Runner but that mpg just kills it for me.

My 2000 lx470 feels the same as these late model 4Runners. Interiors literally haven’t changed much if at all

I could see owning both of these but I have no idea why anyone would be cross shopping these cars. They serve completely different purposes.

I am considering the same thing and if the forerunner had a built-in EV charger on that gas motor, I could actually accomplish both because I already have the model Y but the ground clearance is killing me that said the traction control and climbing ability is amazing. I’ve already scratched the shit out of the rims, proving it to myself can be repaired And the car climbs. Great up in Shasta Trinity.
