Let's help out our buddies in India and the rest of the world, where they're unable to buy Xperia phones. Please like this comment if you want Xperia phones back in your part of the world or want to support those who want to be able to buy Xperias! The world needs more Xperians !! *Edit: if anyone knows how to properly import these phones or has any genuinely useful suggestions, please let us know here!

! Cheers, Tom

Can't wait to get mine tomorrow 😉 First Sony since the Ericsson days 👌

When you have a phone with a stereo speaker setup that is front-facing, then you don`t need the phone to be able to get that loud. Instead of that we can focus on tone quality and balanced sound. Shame that most tech reviewers don't see it that way.
BTW Tom, that T-shirt should be arriving soon

I dont think people should criticize the Xperia 1 ii for having 60hz. I mean they gave people motion blue reduction. The new iPhones coming are also 60hz, nobody ever says this stuff in the reviews

Brought an Xperia 1 ii a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely love it. Having spent 3 months looking at dozens and dozens of YouTube reviews of dozens of phones, I was drawn to the 1ii but couldn't quite justify the price. Then I came across the Xperia 1 ii on offer. The longer phone design works really well with my small(ish) hands, though I have to admit that, within a week, I'd brought a case because it is ridiculously slippery.

Nearly went for the Samsung FE S2O but no regrets. If I hadn't seen the 1ii on offer would have gone for the 5ii.

I nearly didn't buy it because of the camera. I have a DSLR but really wanted a 'point and shoot' camera on my phone, because I don't always want to have to think too much before taking a shot. Turns out it's not an issue with me. I've been using SLRs for nearly 30 years so it's pretty much second nature anyway, and of course, because it shoots in RAW, I can always play with the picture later.

Anyway, glad I came across this channel, as it pushed me towards the 1ii. Look forward to seeing any tutorials or tips on using the camera and phone, because there's always a chance I'll learn something new.

Thanks for the reviews: they definitely helped, and I'm really pleased with the result.

Got my 5ii, after 4 years with xperia x compact. So far very happy. Was looking at 10ii, but high refresh rate screens are just too good, it's the future. And 10ii was missing my favourite camera button.
Btw that old x compact is absolutely fine, including the battery. I'm giving it to my mom with new years presents. Sony makes quality stuff.

It's great to see you with more Sony Xperia 5 II videos! I totally agree with all the points you've mentioned, and I hope Sony would be watching right now to make improvements in its future smartphone. There is lot of space of improvement that Sony can do and make the best smartphone around!

*Brighter display! We know you can do it Bravia teams!
*4K OLED HDR screen with the 120 high refresh rate (It's okay if we have to switch to FHD+ for that like all phones now no problem).
*Front camera sensor needs to be improved. I know it is easy for them to do it since they already have one of the best front camera with their previous devices like Sony Xperia XZ3's 13MP 1/3.1" f/1.9 front camera.
*If possible, let us see you the first to feature a 1inch camera sensor on your devices.
*Keep the same frame of the Xperia 1 II design! No rounded frame.
*Better flash LED. This is something that hasn't changed for years in almost all phones. I don't like shooting photos with flash that much, however, it is always good to have.
*Faster Qi Wireless charger. It is not a problem for me to have this or not but it would be good to have this feature.
*All Camera apps should be in ONR just like you said, so that more people would be encouraged to use Pro mode feature and get used to it.
*More battery capacity. Sony managed to use a 4000mAh in such a small device like Xperia 5 II, so there is definitely place for a bigger one.
*More PlayStation support. This is personal and I always thought it would be great to see PlayStation support more on the future device.
*And last more storage options. It is always good to see Sony Xperia have different storage options.

And thanks for the video. Cheers!

Best phone that has been made to date, and that's including every single phone ever made.

Fantastic review! This one is very tempting to pick up. Glad you brought up the Battery care, very overlooked feature on Xperias. My XA2 Ultra that I've been using for 3 years now (!) still only needs a charge everyother day at most even with moderate daily use.
I came here from the 5 iii review and there seems to be more enthusiasm for the ii and now a bit less spendy as well.
Cheers !

my 1st phone was the CMD Z5 from 2000... i have had many Sonys over the years... the standouts were the Z1... Z5... XZ1... and the Xperia 1... now i recently picked up the Xperia 5 mk ii with EE... i absolutely love Sony smartphones which are just so well designed and packed full of nice features... i know Sony only has 1% of the market share for smartphones but man its the top 1% in my opinion!

This review came little late, i ordered my 5 ii three hours ago :) shame there are so little colour choices and hopefully sony will make the Google button reprogrammable in future update.

Here one more watching on Xperia 5 II blue.

I agree:
I'd like a little more loud and a little (notice A LITTLE) more in "normal" camera mode.

I just found a deal for 699€ today and I’ll be getting mine tomorrow. The original price was the only thing keeping me away from it but now it feels like a no brainer. I am so hyped after reading and watching all the reviews of this phone. It just sounds like the perfect phone, especially for the price I am getting it for. I want to start taking more photos and I was mainly looking for a phone with a great camera. I believe this hits the sweet spot there as well. I hope so anyway.
