Bupropion (Wellbutrin) - How it works, Uses, Side effects and Precautions

Bupropion is used to depression and it also produces weight loss.

Wellbutrin XL 150 mg tablets are reviewed for their benefits and limitations. Bupropion can also be used for cessation of smoking. It is one of the atypical antidepressant with somewhat better profile compared with the typical antipsychotics. Sedation is one of the important adverse effects caused by this medication. It can develop few of the psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and even mental confusion, impaired concentration.

Bupropion can cause weight loss by activation of the POMC neurons, pre-opiomelanocortin neurons which are going to control the appetite.

I just got my Bupropion HCL 150 MG filled today. Since this mediation has a black box warning. I have to meet with my Nurse Practitioner every month. I have my bottle in my hand now. I have yet to take it. I’ve heard really great things about the medication. I got it prescribed for my depression, but especially for my ADHD. I’m hoping it does great things for me. Considering I’m not hyper, but I have a difficult time focusing and concentrating on this. I procrastinate a lot. I start wayyy to many projects that I don’t finish. With my ADHD it’s like this:

Imagine being in a gymnasium with hundreds of thousands post it notes on the walls. On every post it note, there are thoughts, tasks and projects listed on them. That’s what my mind is like 24/7. The projects, thoughts, ideas and advice are really great. It will definitely benefit my life and progress me further. But I just cannot even go through step one and sit down to focus. I get so distracted easily. It’s horrible. Hopefully this medication will really help me!

I wish my psychiatrist asked those kinds of questions. Sadly, after a battery of tests, he determined I don’t have ADHD, but all these symptoms and circumstances resonate deeply with me. I’ve been on a similar very depressing and stressful past 7 years of my life. Hopefully there is a way out.

I had an outburst a few days ago of the most extreme and painfully public rage I've ever experienced in my life, triggered by a pretty petty insult that a stranger gave me. Now I'm being taken off of Wellbutrin. I've just read the the side effects of coming off of Wellbutrin include agitation and irritability. Great. Am I going to wind up in prison in the next few days? Am I going to lose my children? My job? It seems like nobody knows what they're taking about. Months ago, I was forcibly kicked off my Sertraline prescription because Adelia over there at the Connecticut Behavioral Health Associates couldn't bothered to work with my pharmacy to get my prescription filled. I almost killed someone during that experience (serotonin syndrome). This stuff is no joke, and it doesn't seem like many people at all appreciate how serious this game can get, least of all the people actually administering the drugs.

I get the mechanics of Bupropion but does it help psychological issues with mental blocks, anxieties, lost of logic perception in ex: geometric drawings? Lastly when discontinuing Bupropion does it have withdrawals that magnify these anxieties symptoms?
