Should My Dog Sleep in My Bed

In this video, I address a common question that clients ask me. Many people want to know is it okay for their dogs to sleep in the bed with them at night. I don't have any type of rule for all situations and I am fine with many if not most dogs sleeping in the bed with their owners. There are however certain dogs with specific issues in which I recommend moving the dog out of the bed with the owners at least temporarily.

Around 10pm my GS comes to me and nudges me that it’s time for bed. When I acknowledge her and move to get up, she leads the way to the bedroom and jumps up onto my side of the bed. When I’m ready to get in and walk toward my side of the bed, she gets up and moves over. It’s interesting behavior that she she wants to take me to bed and tells me it’s time,

I like sleeping with my door closed. Sometimes my dog sleeps on the couch in the living room, sometimes in his crate in the dining room. Sometimes with my elderly mom in her room. Sometimes he’ll decide to follow me to sleep in my room instead. If he does he’ll sleep on the bed with me or on the blanket on the ground next to the bed, often he’ll start on the bed than move to the floor. On rare occasions he beats me to the punch and is already on my bed before I go lay down. If I call him to bed, sometimes he’ll come in the room, other times he’ll stay wherever he is. He never whines or paws the door once it’s shut, whether he’s in or out of the room. He’s suprisingly a very independent dog.

Before I was woke to dog psychology I absolutely created seperation anxiety in my dog. Its bad. Were together 24 7 cuz I'm home all that time. Just 4 days ago is started making him sleep in his bed. He whines a little but goes to bed eventually

My two year old cavalier sleeps in my bed since she was a puppy. She always loved my cats which I got as kittens also, but lately she is becoming dominant and growls when the cats are getting nearby, especially in the bed. When I want to correct her, she tries to snap me.. I don’t understand how it’s possible that a year ago they slept in the same basket, and now she doesn’t even want them nearby. This makes me consider to put her in a crate next to my bed, and not sleeping with me in the bed anymore… She wants me nearby all the time, so after watching this, I think it’s better to change the “rules in the house” 😅

Guys, if you're dating a girl who refuses to sleep without her pet animal in the bed with her, she's not the one. She won't give up this gross habit & you'll either have to get used to having little or no sex life, or force yourself to be ok with having an animal audience whenever you want to be intimate with your lady. Not to mention, there's no guarantee the critter won't try to interfere.

with all respect, its just nasty to let your dog sleep in your bed... They walk outside, roll in dirt or whatever... and most breeds shed like crazy. There should be strict rules, no dogs in the bed. Something else that just blows my mind. I've seen people in the US washing their dogs in the kitchen sink, i mean are you serious?! how does that not ring any alarm bells??? I love animals, but hygiene is priority; not in my bed, not on my couch, and definitly not washing any animal in my kitchen sink.

Yes dogs need to sleep in the bed. Most dogs suffer from separation anxiety.
It can help them to feel calmer.

It's absolutely not okay. It's disgusting. The same reason you don't come in with your shoes on and crawl into bed. Because it's disgusting.

Is not about if the dog felling any kinda way is about you being a nasty person this dog walks outside shit piss do not wipe at all is just nasty … the only thing that’s crazy to me my man is that u did not mention anything about hygiene bet no body eating your wife dish at the next potluck .. just plane nasty bet you let your kids get in bed with out washing they feet or taking a bath ether right .
