This is such a fun book. The introduction explains why there is so much humor in the book. My buddy Steve Zuehlke has taught me to always read the introductions because there is always something interesting or funny. Check out the introduction to Kaufman’s Almanac. It’s interesting how Richard talks about his previous employer.

Thank you Jeff, I always look forward to your show on Sundays. Thank you for introducing me to Don’s Books and Magic.

I LOVE the Monty Hall problem. I teach Discrete Mathematics, and we spend some time on this subject during the Discrete Probability section. I created a Monte Carlo Simulation of the Monty Hall problem in Java to prove the concept. Also, I own this book, but haven't read it yet. I guess I'm gonna have to dive in soon.

You captured this very well, Jeff. I found it a very helpful and intriguing book, but also one of the most fun books to read in the field.

Hi Jeff--Excellent review as usual. I love the book and Bob Farmer's previous writings. I followed his columns regularly, and in particular, loved his 5-column series on the 10-Card Poker Deal. I haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time with the new volume, but am looking forward to it. I have also been fascinated with the Monty Hall Problem for years, and have often discussed it when teaching introductory statistics. Here are a couple of more theoretical references to the problem: The Monte Hall Problem by Jason Rosenhouse (2009) and The Monty Hall Dilemma: A Cognitive Illusion Par Excellence by Donald Granberg (2014). Both also provide further sources on the problem in their bibliographies.

I rec'd an email today re: this book, saying there was a fifteen-dollar discount this week. But the seller's site would not recognize the discount code. Any ideas?

Hi Jeff, may not make today’s live session - taking over the helm as president of our local magic circle, and meeting with the outgoing president. I may make your live session with Caroline Ravn, though. Take care and look forward to seeing the videos, later.

Has Bob Farmer ever produced a bad book? If so, I've never seen it.
