Film based on the 1840 novel "The Pathfinder", or The Inland Sea by James Fenimore Cooper. It stars Kevin Dillon as Pathfinder and Laurie Holden as Mabel Dunham. The film is known as La Légende de Pathfinder in Canada (French title) and Le Lac Ontario in France. A TV-movie follow-up to "Last of the Mohicans" (1992).

The Story: As the French and Indian Wars rages on, Hawkeye (Kevin Dillon) and those he cares about get caught up along with it. While helping to keep a British fort from falling into the hands of the Crown's enemies, he encounters Mabel Dunham (Laurie Holden) -- a beautiful woman who almost immediately raises the suspicions of Chingachgook (Graham Greene), Hawkeye's Native American father. He warns his son not to trust the whites, but will the youth follow his father's advice or his own heart?

I read the four stories of J.F. Cooper when i was 10 years old and i enjoyed them very much...Now, more than 50 years later i remember and enjoy this movie, too. It's different but that doesn't matter. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Very enjoyable movie with some of the great native american actors involved. Loved the little sad love story string at the end. Thumbs up and thanks for sharing.

Graham Greene and Kevin Dillon were wonderful actors in this movie. The other two Native Americans, the heavyweightt one and his woman were very good in their parts. The sea Captain and thr River Caaptain were also excellent. Stacy Keach acted far below his abilities . All others were from just good to substandard. The theme of the movie was excellent. The cinematic photography was very good. The fate of the King's officer was quite satisfying. I give this movie four thumbe up, two of which I had to borrow at interest. Thank you for this wonderful movie presentation !

Having lived in New York, I grew up on James Fenimore Cooper's stories. This movie is worth a watch; if nothing else you can see Russell Means grow old gracefully(?)

Its two memories in one. The Actors looking so young, the locations being where I visited in my youth nearly 60 years ago. Fort Niagara and Saint Marie Among the Hurons in Midland Ontario. My grandchildren show little interest, more interested in seeing Disneyworld than stuffy old forts. But what they do not know is that THIS, these Forts and rivers and forests were dangerous places. This is the actual Path of their Actual Ancestors reduced to entertainment props. The old stock Americans and Canadians melt away like some ancient glacier leaving only rocks and stones saying, We Were here when it mattered most. Their voices echoed in those forests. We are only memories that you chose to keep alive.

This is a great TV movie, loosely based on JF Cooper's work. It has everything one could want in a good defeats evil plot: drama, humor, romance, excitement, a daffy Englishman, a beautiful lass, a rugged hero for all occasions, and surprise ending. Take a look! Thanks for posting.

I cannot watch this after seeing "Last Of The Mohicans" it's the same story, but the realism of "Last Of The Mohicans" is profound

I like the 1700's and that interesting time period. This movie has the: time era, the scenery everything but that magic that makes a movie great, a certain: je nesais quoi .
