Various Native American tribes inhabited the Americas before it became the United States of America. The territory occupied and inhabited by some tribes was much bigger than that of others. The Plains Wars of the post-Civil War era witnessed some of the bloodiest combat between the American government and the Native American tribes battling for their way of life. However, they are largely neglected by military historians (but not Native American historians). Here are the five Native American tribes the U.S. Army is most anxious about.

This is a list of tribes from the 1800’s. But the Iroquois in the 1600’s to late 1700’s were by far the most fierce warriors of all Native American tribes.

It was the Democrat Andrew Jackson that broke the treaties with the Native American. They promised land opportunities to poor white settlers, that’s how the Democrat Party became powerful. Selling land that was taken by force and committed genocide as well. Davy Crockett volunteered during the first phase, but refused to fight against the 5 civilized tribes. The Confederates (Democrats) indeed tried to eliminate native people in the southwest. Coming from the Navajo people, my elders remember the stories about the wars. The Navajo and Apache fought the Comanche, the Ute, Kiowa, and Spanish Military. Even fought against the U.S. Military. The Comanche and Kiowas were used against the Navajo and Apache people. The Newspapers were used back in the day just like today. Spreading propaganda about the ‘Bloody Savages’, I believe Custer was used as a tool to turn the whole country against the plains and Rocky Mountain tribes. I read the old newspapers when I was young, they still had books that displayed the papers. It is no surprise to me that the Nazis saw the success the Democrat Party had with slavery and genocide. They even called the Slavic people the ‘Native Americans’ of Europe. Very interesting history these ‘Democrats and Nazis’. Good history! One of my friends in the Military was Comanche, we had our little prayer together before we went to the first battle of Fallujah. I wish the narrator was human lol!

While feared is not quite right the US Army was always worried about the Navajo. Reasoning behind this was simple. The Apache under Goyaale, aka Geronimo, only had at most 50 to 60 warriors and it took 5000 US Soldiers to keep him at bay. That was one quarter of entire US Army at time. The Navajo at this time could put 10 to 20 times as many warriors into battle if they ever decided to go to war. If 50 Apaches could hold a force of 5000 in check imagaine what it would take to subdue 500 to 1000 warriors who fought in a similar style.
