Interested in creating a Synology DSM Virtual Machine?
Synology virtual DSM is a pretty nifty feature.
For some reason, this feature remains almost completely under the radar of most Synology users.
bottom line, in a few clicks you can have a full Synology DSM Virtual Machine running on your Synlogy box.

Virtual DSM is a built in feature that enables us as Synology users to easily spin up a Synology DSM based virtual machine on top of our physical Synology box inside virtual machine manager.
in a few click you will be able to create a new virtual machine, with DSM already installed on it and in a matter of minutes, you will be able to start using and playing around with a completely free (and legal) virtual DSM virtual machine.

All you need to do is:
1. Have your Synology NAS up and running
2. Install virtual machine manager
3. Follow the simple steps in this video
4. Rock and roll!

Ive gotta say, your idea of creating a virtual DSM for testing the feasibility and the value of having a second NAS... GENIUS! Just a couple of days ago, I was wondering to myself what a valid use case for a virtual DSM (aside from the classic virus-protection-layer use case) would look like. This is a great example of one.
