Complete Disassembly and Metal Work! | 79 Odyssey FL250 Build Part 2

The 2 Stroke Off-Road Go Kart build is finally getting underway. In this video the odyssey gets completely disassembled along with the complete metal work to get it restored. What we really needed to do was undo all of the previous owners modifications and turn it back into a 1st gen. This included, cutting out the roll cage, remaking the front bumper, and retaining the factory rear section. After we completely tore down the fenders, body work, and frame. We had to fabricate some gas tank mounts, snorkel box mounts, as well as re-weld the exhaust plate! This Ody is a 1979 FL250 and we are super excited to continue and finish the restoration! What ya'll calling hacked together cage was a factory recall added on. Due to the balloon tires and no rear suspension they roll pretty easy. Without the cage in the front it's pretty dangerous. If ya'll were doing a 100% restro I'd say leave it off but since ya'll are adding a bunch of uncorrect stuff so you can ride it IMHO the cage needs to be added back to be safe.

you need to get you one of those Harbor Freight sand blasters and then, use what they call silica sand from Home Depot it's cheap and it works perfect in the sand blaster. The sandblaster requires a lot of air so I typically Run 3 air compressors with an auxiliary tank to run my sandblaster

I think the front cage was a factory recall do to a decapitation and they were added i was 18 in 79
