This is one of the best reviews on YouTube for the CX-5 Carbon Edition. Great job. I really appreciate the insightful comments about the car, the features, driving characteristics and it's value for the price point.

BMW and Audi may look great, but in America they’re not very good mechanically and expensive as hell to fix. Honestly, that’s why I like Mazda, very premium feeling, but durable, reliable, and reasonable to repair

Traded in my 2021 Mazda 6 for a 2022 CX5 carbon edition yesterday! Being this is my first AWD vehicle, I must say I’m actually excited for winter here in Minnesota! Lol

I opted for the 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition instead, since it was more my size preference as a single person w/no kids (& someone who prefers true compact & subcompact class vehicles). The more mid-size CX-5 is better-suited for families and people who need more spacious/comfortable backseat accommodations.

Nice review... well done. Picking up this exact edition for my daughter on Saturday. Wish it had the Bose sound system though.

In my opinion the front facia would’ve looked so much More sportier with the addition of fog lights in the lower valance much like you see on the Japanese models of this car.

Thanks for the review Mike! I’m looking to upgrade my 2015 CX5 this spring. I was thinking of the CX50, but that vehicle seems to be more for the “outdoor” type, off road, taking the kayak to the river, hiking the mountains and I’m not a fan of the plastic cladding…..I’m road tripping and more a daily driver type. The reduce road noise and the PMG got the blood flowing! Thanks again!

Just picked up the Carbon Edition in black leather. Absolutely love it !! Your review was great, fair opinions, honest point of view, and gives a buyer a good idea of what they are getting. 5 stars.

Fast forward to 2023. I just purchased a 23 model. MSRP was just south of 31k. Due to chip shortage, no Bose system or powered liftgate, which is fine with me! Outstanding car with superior quality over the Korean made counterparts!

Love the Carbon edition color scheme. I'm curious why they didn't offer this color option for the 2022 CX-5 Turbo.

Compared to the 22 RAV4 the 22 CX-5 is so much quieter

Thanks! Could you go over some of the tech safety features, and your opinion on how they work in comparison to other brands.

Why Mazda ditched the Turbo Carbon Edition in 2022 is one of life's mysteries...

I feel very fortunate for buying a 2021 CX-5 Carbon Edition Turbo w/ AWD when I did, since it's not being produced in 2022. It has features that are only unique to the 2021 CX-5 Carbon Edition Turbo, like the grill design, and black chrome highlights.

My wife just got the 2022 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition. Driving it to Vegas I was a bit shocked that on a full tank, we got to Vegas on Fumes, I had only 6 miles left till the tank was empty. On my Subaru Forester 2020, On a full tank, my mile range is around 450 miles, on the Mazda, it's around 320-350, so the Mazda isn't really a long range vehicle. Rear Camera is fixed on the Carbon, no guide to tell you where the car will go, so you have to wing it. I feel they could have skipped the rain sensing/auto high beams feature and focused on a better rear view camera. Arm handle feels hard plastic covered in a thin leatherlike cover. Subaru has a featherlike feel on all of the doors. One more issue, Lane Keep assist, it has the alarm, but despite Mazda saying it has steering wheel assist, while I couldn't test it out on an empty road, I feel the only way that could happen is if it was a last ditch effort. In the Subaru (and Honda CRV) you feel the wheel guiding you in turns releasing some stress on your arms while driving long distance. But my wife likes it, I just feel Subaru is a slightly better drive despite the variable transmission engine.
