The Queen held great respect for the Kennedy family. She was incredibly upset that she could not attend JFK’s funeral. She was several months along in her pregnancy at the time so it was simply not an option. She sent Prince Phillip in her stead to represent her and Britain as a whole. She ordered the bells to be rung throughout London to acknowledge his passing, a tradition formerly reserved exclusively for royal births and deaths. She also gave the US some land in England in order to have a memorial garden/park built to the President. The Queen, Jackie Kennedy, and the Kennedy children opened it upon its completion. It is gorgeous. In the center stands an American oak. During the fall, the leaves turn blood red and fall. So every November around the anniversary, the ground is covered by the blood red leaves symbolizing his death, but it spring it blooms again showing his legacy coming alive and blooming again forever. Jackie helped design it. An amazing gesture on part of the Queen. If you are ever in that part of England, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is beautiful

I disliked how Jackie Kennedy was portrayed. They played her off as a slightly dizzy American with a hint of depth. In realty, Jackie Kennedy was an intelligent woman who understood the importance of etiquette & protocols even if she didn't agree with it at times

The Queen truly loved the Kennedy family, more so that they weren’t stuffy while being respectful. 😊

I think this actress is a wonderful replica of the queen at that age, I did not find the later actress captured the queen in her looks - So few of the cast have any real resemblance to the people they play

Holy crap! When Michael Hall smiled, I truly saw JFK. Impeccable casting!

As Americans, the Kennedys were not subjects of the Queen, so there is no requirement for them to bow or curtsy.

As the son of the U.S. ambassador to the Court of St. James, there is no way JFK would have misaddressed Queen Elizabeth. Jackie too grew up in elite Euro-U.S. circles. She too would not have got it wrong. This is perhaps the one scene in the Crown I dont like. An unnecessary snarky dig at yanks.

The Kennedy family was the Ambassador to the UK for decades and they knew exactly how to address Her Majesty and His Royal Highness. I think this movie re-created something that didn't happen.

I know it's fiction, but I always found it funny how they portrayed American presidents as rubes

I think this is a little over dramatized. JFK's dad was the ambassador to England I think they would know how to formally greet a king or queen. I mean his two oldest sisters were debutants.

This is baloney. The Kennedy's had experience with protocol when JFK's father was Ambassador to the Court of St. James
