Petra, is often called the "Lost City". We still don't know much about its origins and it's purpose is still unknown. The ancient city, carved into the rose-red cliffs of Jordan, was once the center of trade and culture, yet its creators, the Nabataeans, remain a mystery as well. We do know that they had many skills in trade, particularly in incense, spices and silk, and they controlled major trade routes between the Arabian Peninsula. However, they suddenly declined and disappeared, which has puzzled historians for the better part of the 19th century.🧭🏝️
