Leroy W. Demery Jr. and Jaune Smith brought an 8 mm camera with them on a visit to Toronto around 1970, and pointed it at the streetcars in the city. In this selection of clips, edited and put to music by Damian Baranowski, we ride and watch an assortment of streetcars plying the streets of Toronto, and pay a surprise visit to some pre-Western Flyer trolley buses.

I remember all these models on the streets of TO. The Cars hooked together with the ridge running the full length of their roof, running here on the Queen route, used to run on Bloor during rush-hours before the subway was opened in 1966. They were called MU's (Multiple Units) because both units supplied power to run the train as opposed to one Car pulling a trailer, thus giving the unit more power.
I remember as a kid sitting in the back seat of the front Car and trading silly faces with the operator in the rear Car who didn't have much else to do other than making change, selling tickets and handing out transfers.
