I’m running a 5 ch amp pushing the sub ch to a 12” 4ohm driver, my question is... If I switch out the 12” 4ohm box for a different brand 12” 2ohm box, do I need to adjust any settings on the amp or will the 12” 2ohm sub resistance automatically set the amp to 2ohms levels on the sub channel??? FYI the amp is rated from 2ohm-4ohm

For some reason I always thought if you wire a DVC Sub to a higher Impedance it would effect the RMS I don't know where I got that . When I first got into Car audio I never cared about Numbers Now I try to match everything as close as possible.

What if you have 2 speakers one is dual voice coil and one isn’t. For example I have 2 kicker 12s but one is a kicker comp with 1 positive and 1 negative hook up. The other is a kicker cvr with 2 positive and 2 negative hook ups like the speakers you showed. How would I wire those up. So very confused about this ohm stuff lol

Quick question. I've an old mtx4250 mono 2 channel. It says on back it can run 2ohm @250w rms. I've only owned a 4 ohm speaker and bridged it. The question is if I purchase a 2 ohm speaker can I get more power out of my amp?

Hi. I have a four channel MB Quart XA1-800.4 four channel amp. The power is 100 watts x 4 @ 4ohms. I've not purchased the components yet as I'm still deciding what to get and what configuration to consider. The default would be to get the MB Quart BMW components. They operate at 75watt @4ohms. My question is, how do I get away with a more powerful set like the Hertz Hi Energy which operate at 125watts? Would I need to bridge them across the 4 channels? and what would that take my amps peak power to? Would I need to set my gains according to the 125watts of the components? Many thanks.

I have a Hifonics Zeus 1500w and four Alpine swr-823d's (dvc 2 ohm per coil).

So if I have four 4ohm DVC subwoofers, I could wire them to that amp in series for 250w per sub, right? Will that be enough? And if I want more, what kind of amp do I need to get?

Something like this would be ideal if it's good quality right? At 2 ohms it would give each of them 350w, their max RMS rating.

How does bridging come into play? How does 2ohm DVC sub when bridged become either 2 ohm or .5 ohms?
