Pic 1) Is a supermarket called asda, pretty much british walmart.
Pic 2) Sports Direct cups are huge
Pic 3) At the start of every day UK schools will start with what we would call an assembly where we would be expected to sing religious songs for about 5-10 minutes.
Pic 4) In the UK people are more willing to speak their mind even if it is detrimental to their circumstance.
Pic 5) It used to snow more than it does now, we will always hope for snow but when the snow comes the whole country comes to a stand still.
Pic 6) Firstly a tea towel is a smaller towel used for drying off crockery cutlery and kitchen utensils after they have been washed. Secondly you will find that we print kids drawings onto alot of objects as little keepsakes.
Pic 7) Prefects are still a thing but i think the poster is saying ‘remember prefects’ as they are no longer in education and it makes them feel nostalgic.
Pic 8) People do dumb stuff in the search of humour.
Pic 9) Is a gimmick that is done in many countryside pubs and taverns as a nod to being in the countryside, everything that comes into contact with food will be washed in a dishwasher, more for tourism people who generally want a full English just want food and not the inconvenience of a spade for a plate. Side note spades are for digging up the dirt and shovels are for moving dirt.
Pic 10) Office workers wanting everything their own way, if you need to visit the shop just go on Saturday as most office jobs are monday- friday.
Pic 11) there was a british hit song called year 3000 by a band called Busted, the normal lyrics are ‘Ive been to the year 3000 not much has changed but they live under water’ this picture is playing off of that and now that they charge alot for disposable bags in stores and are making a joke that these disposable bags will be soo expensive in the future.
Pic 12) This has clearly been photoshopped but it is typical British humour.
Pic 13) the proper version of this cake isnt a hotdog roll but the cheap versions most definitely are.
Pic 14) we dont use victorian roads because they are too bumpy to drive our cars down.
Pic 15) the shop is called specsavers, they are a shop that sell prescription glassed, they do adverts where people do silly things because they cant see properly, they have a catch phrase which is ‘should have gone to specsavers’. After seeing a picture of a car crashed into a specsavers shop the whole UK would think ‘should have gone to specsavers.

I hope this helps. I have recently happened across your youtube channel and have been watching many of your videos and i have to say as an Englishman i am happy to see an American looking at life outside of the US with an open mind.

15:48 Specsavers is a glasses shop and also an opticians. They have a long running advertisement on TV where people make embarrassing mistakes because they can't see properly, and the tagline is always 'you should have gone to Specsavers'. So it's actually really ironic that a driver couldn't see where they were going and crashed into a Specsavers shop

The singing hymns in assembly at school is the reason the Brits are so good at the football chants 😂
When it snows everything stops here 😁

"We all want it, but can't handle it" actually means that we want snow but when there is snow we hope there was never any snow.

Carrier bags are for carrying groceries home, they used to be free but the government put a ten pence charge on them (up to 30p in some shops now) to 'save the environment' by encouraging people to reuse them, now we all have 6000 carrier bags but still forget to bring them shopping every fkn time 😂

The hot dog bun thing really bugs me! It's made using a sweet dough it's completely different to a normal bread roll!

I remember the tea towel thing from my primary school, I had completely forgotten about that. Prefects at my secondary school were basically all the year 11s, we had a different tie to the rest of the school and were expected to act as am example to the other students

The bike meme is about a self-inflicted downfall. The kid isn't just falling off a bike. He's poking a stick into his moving front wheel which makes him fall off his bike.
Hence, wishing it would snow, then everything goes wrong when it snows.

Yes, we had to sing hymns in assembly, although we weren't called students in early schools like that, we were just called schoolchildren or schoolkids. We were not known as students until in higher education, at around age 18.

The slogan for every Specsavers ad is should have gone to Specsavers. For reference they sell glasses and their ads are mostly people getting into weird situations because they can't see properly.

I'm 65 and I am wearing one of my two yellow school Prefect badges.

As for the cheese biscuits, that would be Asda. Cheese biscuits are what you might call crackers, things you eat with cheese. Some types of cheese biscuits do actually contain cheese, though!!

The Victorian roads were covered because of the noise of horses and carts on the cobbles, the recognised faith in the UK is the Church of England and all schools had assemblies in the main hall each morning, the religious song is called a Hymn, at Christmas we had Christmas carols. We are all excited when we get snow, children are out sledging or building snowmen, but everything else grinds to a halt because we can't actually cope with snow. As for Prefects they helped to oversee the movement of children around the school, in junior school we also had monitors for each classroom, you could be a milk monitor or a book monitor handing out the daily milk or workbooks.

a 'tea towel' in the uk is a relatively thin towel, often made of linen, used exclusivel for drying dishes after they've been hand-washed.

maybe we get a few days of snow a year, but its very rare. the last big snowfall we have had was in 2018. it was nicknamed the Beast of the East

I recently came across the tea towel that we made in first school with all our year groups faces on them, my gran had kept it wrapped up all these years so was like brand new condition even though this we made in the late 80's, brought back some fond memories.

Carrier bags used to be free in shops. To discourage the use of plastic, they started charging 5 pence, to encourage the use of long life bags.
