Coming from the different varieties of cornbread. My favorite is made in a cast iron pan. With crunchy outside and moist inside. Not mayo. It needs that crunch and not burnt. It's awesome with pintos, beef stew or any soup.

I like crumbly cornbread that’s still a bit moist. Reminds me of the cornbread they made in my hs cafeteria back in the hills of Virginia. I think the lunch ladies added some love to them.

I made two kinds of cornbread. One a bit sweet with honey and buttermilk and the other with fresh corn kernels, sharp cheddar and roasted Hatch Green Chilies 💚

I make mine without sugar. I also put my oil in the pan to heat it up for a nice crisp bottom. I will use bacon grease instead if I have it. Once done split it open putting in real butter. Hot corn bread in glass of milk is wonderful!

Corn bread can be sweet but I prefer unsweetened. Made in a cast iron skillet with cornmeal on the bottom to keep it crunchy.
