The time for Ben Wallace is not right at this time - Russia would spin his appointment to make NATO look like the military arm of Britain. I do not believe that this is related in any way to Brexit or retaliation for Brexit. He would be the perfect choice, post-conflict, for strengthening NATO and bringing in both Ukraine and Sweden into the fold.
