I'm 31 and still live with my parents. So does my 26-year-old sister. In my country it is no big deal. Many of my friends do that too. We don't see the point of moving out and paying for your own place unless you get married or work very far from home.

In Latin cultures people don't move right away, they can stay home and live with their parents as well. The only difference is, you have to work. It's not FREE. Also kids help take care of the parents when they grow old. People can, and do move out, but it's usually down the street or next to the parents house. Family is super important in Latin culture.

Is a culture thing, for us latinos as long you work is totally aceptable to hace 30 and live with tour parents.

Curious, why American parents make their children move out once they become adults? Is it some sort of parenting technique to instill independence?

In Asian families, no one is allowed to leave the house until elders are dead. Asian values family most so its not surprising the kick out culture was from white people.
Extended family is ideal type of families for Asians and children are not expected to moved out when they're 18. Older children are allowed to stay even in their adulthood and fulfill their duty to look for their old parents.

If you have to go as far as taking this to court, then you have failed as parents. The time and money it would take, you could have gotten him another place for him.

My 34 year old brother lives with my dad and is currently jobless. Big deal. My dad has not given him an ultimatum, nor will he. The job market is tough right now....how rude.

In hispanic and Asian cultures, many children still stay with their parents even in adulthood, but of course have a job at the same time. They do this as it is seen fit for children to take care of their parents as they get older just as their parents did to them as children
