‘You’ve been wrong your whole life’: Donald Trump shuts down journalist over tariffs

Former US President Donald Trump had a heated exchange with a Bloomberg journalist in an interview on Tuesday.

The 45th president sat down with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait as Trump was asked a series of questions at The Economic Club of Chicago.

The heated exchange began when Micklethwait asked Trump how he would enact tariffs on foreign companies without affecting the US economy.

The journalist said “the overall effect could be massive”, with Trump’s tariffs potentially putting the US in a “trade war”.

Trump hit back at the question, asserting, “It’s going to have a massive effect, positive effect. It’s going to be a positive effect”.
