I used to eat it back in the Philippines when I was young. It’s very delicious and yes it’s somewhat creamy taste and a bit sour. It’s a coconut trying to grow inside a coconut. You’re lucky if you find one coconut similar to this.

Fun fact: you cant find this fruit on a tree because it is basically a coconut that fell off and stayed on the ground for months and sprouts into a small plant thats the green thing on the top you usually see

My parents owned a coconut business and distributed every part of coconut to different vendors. What was sold most, was the coconut sponge. In spanish we call it a Coconut's apple. Anyway, the sponge definitely does not taste like sourdough bread nor does the oil taste like butter lol.

We have this fruit a lot in Asian country. It is actually the coconut sprout. You can only get the sprout before the it matures into full-grown coconut. The “butter” that you mentioned in the video was the coconut oil and the white flesh is what we made for shredded coconut🥥

I'm Polynesian, my people have been growing Coconuts and taking them to each new island they settled. Not once have I ever thought that Niu (coconuts) or the sprouted coconuts taste like sourdough. You should try Mitiore/Taioro, which is fermented coconut. That has a fermented, similar to sourdough but probably closer to a kumbucha. Even then it still doesn't explain what Mitiore tastes indescribable, it's most definitely an acquired tast

It's coconut flower and will get this if and only if dried coconut fallen fron tree and tends to give new plant by means of nature.
It taste like sweet sponge and gives sensation like coconut oil if we have it more. One of the crazy Indian fruits. 🇮🇳❤
