I saw the +5 handicap and thought holy hell this guy is good, and then I realized that they meant just a 5 handicap, after I saw the +19 handicap.

Danny is a 5 handicap? Must have a phenomenal short game. His over the top swing is costing ALOT of ball speed.

Those AMP forged were game improvement, definitely not a blade. It’s hollow body w/tungsten inserts which we see very common today. The only difference in that club vs today’s offerings is slightly weaker loft than comparable heads like T200, P790, ZX7, etc.

He’d see MUCH bigger improvement eliminating that outside-in club path and possibly adjusting lie angle than new clubs. With his apparent short game talent, if he can improve club path, he’ll be scratch golfer

Nice Vid. My son is getting me back into the game so I had already planned on a fitting this fall with CC. Being that Golf is not my only vice (motorcycles, target shooting, twins in college), I will be telling fitter to stick with stock shafts when possible for my iron fitting. I had heard they tend to head right to the high end shafts.

His gamer already was his best option. The fact that he took longer with worse dispersion is kind of crazy to me. You could have put a blanket around his gamer.

I got fitted for irons in April also picked the Rad Speed still waiting for them was told now middle of July. Had a driver fitting about 3 weeks ago after about 6 different drivers and hot humid day I tried the Sim 2 max and averaged 4 mph swing speed and 5 mph ball speed. Naturally I picked that club it had the best dispersion also.

Great in-depth review of the process. I've probably had a dozen sets of clubs and only had the store "fitter" have me use my club and try out another brand then give his "recommendation". Pretty much a waste of time. I'll be 78 in August and plan to be fitted by then 😊⛳

Great video, thanks. Nonetheless focusing on Danny's iron fitting I do not see the point of making the final decission based on the best shot of each bunch. When I saw all the elypses together the first one I would have disregarded was the one he surprisingly selected . Biggest dispersion of all. He will hit some amazing shots with his selection but by no means it is going to lower his score

With that clubhead speed, Danny could gain more distance specially from the driver. Did they play with driver loft up/down, he's still spinning his driver too much. It could have been better optimized. Imo.
I had a fitting with club champion and it was the same, as long as they get you hitting something longer they don't optimize it much. I'm glad I got fit, but I basically had to tell the fitter what numbers I wanted to get. And they always try some shaft brand that are not stock offerings from the manufacturer, so it would be harder for you to find it on your own and have to end up with buying it from them. At a substantial mark up. Great vid though. 👍

Great video again with some really interesting information. Shame we don't have a Club Champion here in the UK. We do have a few specialised fitters dotted around the country but nothing close to me. My fitting experiences have been with the Pro's at local courses who help to some degree with fitting but nothing as technical with what I have just seen. Such a pity as I would love to have that experience.

Very strange as I am not sure anything beats Danny’s ow. Irons and what is called his best shot is simply his longest . Also how many of these brands have the selected shaft as a stock model?

Hey guys at garage golf I watched your video and really like all the info my question to you is I'm fixing to go for my first full bag club fitting I have a decent swing about a 14 handycap I'm torn between going to club champion or we have a ping academy fitting center nearby and I'm a fan of ping but can't decide which to do if you done it all over again would you go to CC again or a club manufacturer fitting center was it worth it

I would say its more about diispersion then it is about distance
it is a consitent 7-10 yards left which you can play but the with the occasional miss to the right compared to never missing to the right would have me question the dispersion.. and I am sure the lofts are stronger than his own clubs, accounting for the increase distance

I enjoyed the entire video, especially the putting sequence. Although it seemed like the shot dispersion wasn't that great. Would enjoy the experience. But is Club Champion really brand agnostic as they say? We all know that they make more $ selling top brands at inflated premium prices, and the shafts that were shown I never seen before.

Danny went backwards on the irons IMO. From a forged iron that he had good dispersion on and you know feels great to a more game improvement iron with a worst dispersion and not forged. Makes no sense to me, so what it goes a little further. His distance and offline dispersion was defiantly better with his gamer. Why did they not have him hit some players and players distance irons?
