My understanding is that Peter was Peter all along and that he only thought he was Doc Ock? If that's the case, then that's not much of a reveal when anybody who cared about this figured it out early on. I mean, a machine that trades bodies when souls, God, and the Devil are proven to exist, when Wolverine was sent to Hell and had a demon possess his body, where X-23 physically went to Hell and was pretty much told she couldn't be a full clone if she has a soul and allowed entrance into Hell, and where Peter sold his marriage and everything associated with it to the Devil!
