2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback Interior Review (Beth + Matt)

Beth and I review the interior in the 2020 Toyota Yaris Hatchback which is new for 2020 and strangely is also getting discontinued at the end of this year. While it was short-lived, these "new" Yaris are based on the Mazda2 sold elsewhere in the world. As a result, this interior is a little nicer than some competitors in some areas, but in other areas, the Yaris falls short of its competitors. With an as-tested price of $18,705 for this LE model, even the much nicer Corolla is barely more expensive, putting the Yaris in a tough position. Nevertheless, if you're looking for reliable transportation in a tiny package, the Yaris is still a solid choice. What do you think of the 2020 Yaris? Thanks to Toyota for providing this vehicle.

Beth needs her own segment, give her a full report from the passenger side of let her do the backseat segment.

Very good review. I appreciated your added perspective on other competitors in the category plus the advantages of going used at this price point.

I prefer manual controls versus screen controls. Does this vehicle have a backup camera? How about a CD player? I have no desire to pay for Sirius radio. I don't miss using a center console to rest my arm on but I do miss the storage. The price is good. Thanks for giving the price up front.

Just replaced our 2017 Yaris with a Hyundai Venue Denim. Much better car. But can’t complain too much about the Yaris. With discounts and rebate, paid $14, 500 in 2017.

The yaris sedan offers an armrest for about $199. It might be available in the hatchback also. ...
Their interiors are pretty much the same.

This model is definitely not trying to be America's cheapest car anymore. Looks good.

Back 2 Back Hatchback interior reviews, we already know which one that I prefer aka from the company that starts with H and not a T. I did take pictures of one of these at Mike Kelly Toyota of Uniontown, PA and I am glad that I didn't have to sit in the back seat of one. At least it has more room than a not so Smart car. Being 6'1" 250 lbs I would have to at least go up one segment level into the Corolla as you mentioned. I remember you mentioning that they may come out with a GR sporty version in one of your Friday Updates. Way to crank some of these out and sharing with us.

Now I am confused. Why does Toyota use a Mazda2 as a base for the Yaris here when they have a way more cool looking and newer model here in Europe? Inside and Outside this Version here looks 5-10 years older than the other Yaris over here. That`s strange ...

Good luck with the used car market right now, it's off the rails.

It’s not hard to see why the Yaris is the least popular car in this segment ( sedan or hatchback)
