Toyota loves making automotive partnerships to cut down on vehicle development costs. And their partnership with Mazda continues to bear fruit because as the Scion iA was just a sedan, the Yaris is available as a hatchback.

I drove a car for the last 10 years, no armrest. You get use to it after a while. Never have I ever not been able to get somewhere because I didn't have an armrest. lol

It drives like a nimble larger car- quiet, smooth revving, perfect steering. It's a joy to own.

A shame that the market for subcompacts has shrunk so much. The Mazda2/Yaris needs 25 more horsepower

Great review! Have owned both a manual and auto Mazda 2hatchback and they are capable vehicles that are a blast to drive around town. Virtually no body roll in cornering. Long trips with the car can be a bit tiresome, but for the money, you can't beat it.

It’s a shame they don’t just sell this as the Mazda 2. The styling on the 2020 is so much better.

There is a real Toyota Yaris out here in europe. It's even as a hybrid and base for WRC Rallye Car.

Great video. I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and am in love. It’s zippy, fits everything I need. I traded in a VW Tiguan. Most of my previous cars have been hatchbacks. One was even a two seater. It has everything I need and I’m one that loves the look.

Had the previous version original egg, mid and this and this one is EXCELLENT especially with the LED headlights etc! This makes one of the BEST used options today:)

I don't see Toyota's implication in this. Other than a different face and badges, this is 95% a Mazda2. Funny how you can have 4 different cars (Yaris, 85, Supra vs let's say a Corolla or Camry) with the same Toyota badge but who are completely different from each other, have different infotainment and so on... Oh, and you forgot the Rio as a competitor, which is a great little car

My iA manual got 49 mpg average mixed driving, amazing!

Why not give it an armrest. That alone is a deal breaker. They could at least add a folding one connected to the driver seat like the Chevrolet Spark

The sport mode allows higher RPM’s before shifting to the next gear!!

I have a Mazda 2 2012. 80k almost. Perfect car.

For 17K, I'd rather get a used Corolla or Civic.

GREAT REVIEW, & I have researched a lot of vehicles & find this to be top notch. Have to say I do not desire to drive a LEXUS or would I want that kind of payment.

I don't mind that it looks like darn Mazda. However, is the engine, transmission, and every bit of technology in it of japanese quality?? 🤔

I like how the Mitsubishi Mirage isn’t even mentioned lol

A sport mode which as far as I can tell doesn’t do pretty much anything 😂. And wow u r 6 ft and still fit inside. 👍 Im interested in this car but the sedan as a daily driver

Is this the cheapest new car that offers leatherette seating?
