Are all of the points of light in the night sky, other than the moon, planets, and artificial satellites, that we call stars also suns?

A star is called a "sun" if it is the center of a planetary system. A large number of planets have been found that orbit other stars, thus making these stars officially "suns." Chances are that a large percentage of the stars in the galaxy also have planets orbiting them, which would make them suns as well. Our Sun is a middle-aged star, about five billion years old.

A term star seems to have two definitions. A general one defining a light in the sky where a sun and a galaxy could be a star. A scientific one that refers to a singular body that emits light. I read somewhere that on a small enough scale the universe should look very uniform. I wonder why the night sky doesn't look look me that considering that there starts are light years away
