Dunno why but the "1 fps maximum" for tomb raider is just a glitch while exporting; it's still 144 fps like I said.

In my opinion Apple products are very expensive but for me it’s worth it, it’s nearly impossible to describe what makes an apple product so enjoyable to use but it hurts me to use other laptops now

Most likely no one's going to see this comment because it's so late, but the GTA framerate strangeness is due to something in Bootcamp. My 5K iMac and my RMBP either run at 30 or 60 FPS depending on settings. Sometimes increasing one setting to high will make the game run at a constant 30, whereas changing the setting back runs a constant 60. It's very odd

You focused way too much on 5K. Nobody plays games at 5K. You should have tested and given more info on both 1440p and 1080p too, so that 90% of people watching have something to compare it to.

Playing games on this monitor must be absolutely beautiful.

I'd be very curious for tests on games that use Metal 2 with a comparison to the same hardware running DX12 on Windows too. Wondering if they've bridged that previously massive gulf.

Mac's Fan Control. You can set the fan to come on at whatever temp you want and set the max speed for whatever temp you want. It's free and it works on Mac OS and if you use Bootcamp there is a windows version that works as well.

I wish they wouldn't have gutted the iMac by giving it the "pro" VEGA card that's actually slower than the regular one. Not too bad for gaming on the side though.

I just needed some actual insight on Mac running a Vega 56/64 GPU, I have a Mac Pro desktop 2012 and with the native AMD GPU support that Apple is forcing nowadays this gives me some idea of the power from team red, I think it will make a big difference to my currently GTX 980 SC that's installed, great vid.

If I understood correctly - Vega GPU has own drivers and it differs from drivers for "gaming" AMD GPUs. And game developers don't optimize game engine for Vega

The hardware is fully optimized on Mac computers, however, the games aren’t always optimized, that’s up to AMD and Intel to work with the game developer to ensure optimization is working to its highest potential.

I noticed Runescape 3 there at the end, wasn't expecting to see that here! Great review :)

So I bought an iMac Pro and it’s 2019 and I seem to get poorer performances. What annoysme the most is the freaking fan! Immediately starts loud no matter what. It really feels like something is dragging me. The machine’s potential is not used to its full.

if apple wanted to make a gaming pc, they would destroy the competition
just like how they did with the mobile market

I really enjoy Macs, and even Mac OS but the weak gaming has always been its Achilles heel. In the phone market they’ve nailed it in terms of performance and library, if only they could find a way to translate that to Macs.
