Fixing the Spring Reverb on a Vox AC15 Tube Amp

In this video we, I am going to be taking apart my Vox AC15 amp to fix the spring reverb inside. For whatever reason, the reverb on this amp is very weak, hardly making a sound, so I have decided to open up the back of the amp and take a look inside.
Please note, I have done this before, but I am not a professional. The Vox AC15 springs are know for going out and not sounding great, and often times it is simple to fix up. For this video I just opened up the back, and made sure the Spring reverb was plugged in and secure. Once I adjust this slightly everything was operational again.

Richard, I recently purchased a used AC15C1 with a very dismal reverb. I watched your video and initally thought, “Wow, this guy is some kind of lucky
That the reverb started working”. ;) All joking aside, I admire your enthusiasm and willingness to just “Mess around until it works”. So after watching your video, I took my reverb unit out and confirmed it does work by touching the springs. I then unpluged and reseated the 2 pin connectors coming from the transducers at both ends of the reverb unit. And whaalaa, it works! I’ve read that these connectors are very cheap and can cause issues. So now I have thunderous reverb! Thanks for such an entertaining and helpful video. :). Now if I could only play as well as you do.

I am still amused 🤣 by the phenomenon of EVERY SINGLE REVERB in my amplifier collection being inoperable. It is a peculiarity. 😂

I have a 1966 Vox Cambridge Reverb on which I need to fix the springs. I need to figure out what type of springs I need. I got parts for restoration from a site that specializes in them, but they don't have springs, unfortunately.

I know a lot of people replace the stock reverb tank on this model with a MOD brand tank. $35 fix that's easy to do. Maybe they just need to fiddidle-daddle around with their stock tank.
