'Greedflation', a term coined by 'The Hill' in 2023. Unlike regular inflation, which pertains to the rising costs of goods and services, Greedflation refers to the disproportionate inflation of corporate sector's profits compared to the general economy, productivity, and wage increases. We explore how this widening pay gap and disparity is not only causing unrest but is unsustainable in the long run.

We dive into the statistics revealing the stark difference in the growth rates of corporate profits and wage increases. We discuss the possible drivers of this issue, such as stock buybacks, tax breaks for corporations, low minimum wages, and lack of workers' rights. We also touch upon the long-term implications and potential solutions, highlighting the importance of better legislation and a fair tax structure.

This video draws examples from companies like General Mills, Tyson Foods, PepsiCo, Ulta Beauty, and Kimberly-Clark that have benefited from this profit-boosting trend, despite the Fed's efforts to control inflation. As we wrap up, we emphasize the role of consumers, workers, and citizens in challenging this narrative and seeking a fairer deal. Remember to like, share, and subscribe for more insightful content. Together, we can create a fairer world, one paycheck at a time.

Ramsey is the guy who says you should give away your wealth to charity but the guy won’t even give his own employees a raise. He’s a joker.

If your employer isn't giving you an inflation raise, they are effectively paying you less and less over time. That's why so many people are quiet quitting as they are being paid less and less.

As a professional audio engineer, I have worked many corporate events. And if I’ve learned anything about that crowd, they are really good at inventing language that makes you feel bad about being right.

Won’t pay increase for inflation but will complain when people leave for higher paying jobs every year 🤷🏽‍♂️ play stupid games win stupid prizes

I worked multiple jobs where I added value and worked harder, didn't go for 10 minute smoke breaks every hour and didn't stare at my phone when it was quiet compared to everyone else I was working with and I never got a pay rise. It's like the old man said. You get paid what it will cost to replace you. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job.

It's unsustainable, eventually prices are gonna be so high and salaries so low that consumers won't be able to purchase their products anymore, causing the opposite effect.
That's how you start recessions.

Future generations will hopefully put a end to corporate slavery. The American worker should be able to work and still afford to survive.

a lot of inflation has just been them raising prices because they can and then blaming supply chain issues.

Ramsey wants people to save cash to buy a home outright. Dude is living in another world. Its almost funny.... almost.

This definitely happens. Back in the GFC I was going to high school with a guy whose family owned a chain of grocery stores in central NC. He bragged (foolishly) that when gas went up they upped their prices, but when gas went back down they kept their prices steady and pocketed the difference. I never forgot that lesson.

"You're being paid what you can be replaced at." If everyone decided to not work for that pay only then would Ramsey increase the pay? People need to stop working for these clowns.

4:52 This is not true. Many companies think they can replace specialized employees so they fire them or drive them away with poor treatment. Then they'll go a year without filling that specific position and complain their is a labor shortage. This happens especially when management has no clue what the workers do. They would rather eat the cost of lost productivity than pay more.

Since my real wage has dropped since 2022 I haven't had a productive day in work. I turn up, look busy, trick the KPI, drink coffee and deliver NOTHING. Many in the department do this, quiet quitting works - the company had to axe a range of projects in the past 8 months. Yes everyone is loosing, but at least they're not winning alone. Can't have something for nothing. "It's mean, it's nasty, welcome to adultland" 🙂

Don't worry Josh. I'm sure that things will start making sense and that wealth will trickle down at some point. We just have to be patient and wait until the end of time.

My favorite Dave Ramsey advice is him bashing gen Z and millennials who live at home to save money bc in his words “they’re not mature if they’re living somewhere for free” even tho 90% of the world basically lives at home until they can afford to buy their own property

Since the pandemic - and even before, I suspected companies were adding on to inflation, because every time the news starts pushing inflation stories, everything goes up like it was synchronized. Apartment rent is totally out of control, working folks making $15 an hour don't make enough to rent a descent apartment where I am at.

One thing I noticed is that UPS workers are portrayed as the greedy bad guys after the new contract was agreed upon. They are the ones blamed if shipping goes up in price, but not the CEO who raises his salary far more often. Union workers like UPS drivers are seen as lazy but not the CEO who does not work NEARLY as hard as he wants us to believe, certainly not as much as the warehouse workers and drivers.

This Ramsey guy is a piece of work. It's amazing how much scammers make in America.

Ramsey is the kind of guy you don’t want to work for. There’s no way you could ever be good enough for him as an employee.
