You confuse store level prices with corporate distribution prices. Yes, the stores could be making less than before but, McDonald’s corporate is their supplier and they set the prices for the raw products sold to stores. McDonald’s corporate has been raising their prices to make more money at a corp level and squeezed both their franchisees and customers. Sure the stores may be paying $3 for the raw ingredients of a Big Mac but McDonald’s corporate likely pays less than 25 cents.
No one blames franchisees, we blame McDonald’s corporate.

For DECADES, I've eaten at McDonald's in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida and the service is consistently disappointing to awful. Service at Chic-fil-a in the same locations for all of that time has been consistently great to excellent. The ONLY reason I eat at a McDonald's is because of their FRIES. I crave them, dang it!

I can make like 3 good quality meals at home for the same price as 1 Uber/fastfood meal.

Problem isn't so much the fact the price went up but the fact that food has gotten worse and they've gotten slower at making orders.

You can buy a real lunch for 10-15 bucks in a local place. If you’re in the south Publix deli lunches (sub or meals) are less than 10 dollars they are better in quality and cheaper

most of their profits is syphoned off by fuel taxes and prices, they like to blame the rise in workers wages but their trucks deliver daily to every store around the world, they are a logistics company who pretends to be a restaurant..

I only eat out at restaurants on weekends… only if I go out. Usually… Chick Fil A. $12 for a meal.

They can afford to charge less. They got caught and are paying the price

Can someone answer a qustion for me? Aren't some of the institutional investors the people who manage employee 401k plans? If so, that sure makes all this even more complicated.

The excuse for the price increases doesn't matter. The price will be what the market will bear. Soon the market will not.

When they talk about wages, they never talk about exec bonuses, just some kid on the grill flippin burgers. Mcdonalds is in trouble. Last time I went to mcdonalds, the PICKLE was thicker than the burger.

I usually buy Mcdonalds once a year, then I go home, remember why I shouldn't be eating this shit. And wait for another year until I think I want McDonald's again.

The good aspect of all of this is, that you are better off cooking some healthy meals at home or taking some home prepared food with you on your days journeys.

"i'm not rich enough to afford two mcchickens and a small soda anymore so i just order one mcchicken and drink water" what a young guy once said to me.

$750, 000 profit per restaurant, per year. But they were FORCED to raise prices. If a franchisee (and the corporation) considers $750, 000 barely livable, they need to work at their front line staff's wages, ALONE, for an entire year.

I can understand prices hikes but what astounds me is the quality of their goods has been reduced to sub par standards. The sizes of their products have decreased dramatically. So for the consumer, not only is it costing you more, but you get smaller portioned quantities of food. The saddest part about it, people still go out and pay for it! THAT is the MAIN problem. So if you buy Macca's, DO NOT complain. I haven't eaten their crap in almost 15 years.

I went into my local Chinese place. 4 chicken wings was more expensive than a whole uncocked chicken from the supermarket next door. I dipped.

Why would i pay five, six or seven dollars for a quarter pounder or Big Mac or whatever, when I can get a real fresh made burger for the same price or a few bucks more at a diner down the street. Fast food is gross, and the prices are the same as a lot of restaurants with real fresh made food.
