Thank you for testing 1440p ultrawide! It’s so hard to find benchmarks for this resolution.

so basically ryzen is about double workstation tasks (stuff that needs cores and shit) but only about 10 fps less in game at max\
now that is a win

Not a single CPU heavy game... where is StarCraft, X4, Kingdome Come...

They basically all perform the same... And actually Ryzen has better Frametimes which are not shown in this video but are more important than the FPS.

Just found your channel going to sub after posting this comment. I own an 8700k/2080ti 1920x/1080ti I game on a 1440p 144hz Adaptive sync monitor, the 3950x is looking to be my replacement for both systems. The amount of games you tested and resolutions is just amazing thank you for this video. Next video could you use rated 3600mhz mem and configure bios settings please also overclock the 9900k to 5.0ghz. The extra fps over 144 one would never see, I play allot of fps games so fps is important for me the numbers are so close it really doesn't matter anymore. What matters to me is fps and that my 8700k at 5.0ghz is a furnace even with a quality 360mm AIO with 6x fans push pull! I run it at 4.8ghz 1.250v to stay cool, while rendering at 5.0ghz thermal throttle city! Couldn't even imagine the 9900k at 5.0ghz.. Great video mate.

Thanks for testing all these different games with these setups. I have the ryzen 9 3950x, its only a few fps short of the intel i9900k for 1440p resolution, and I'm ok with that, and I can do everything else faster!

The fanbots are out in full force in this particular comment section. You call a 1% difference a win? When it gets CRUSHED in multicore. If the literal only thing you use a pc for is playing games, yeah. Sure. Whatever. The rest of us arent so blind to reality. Stupid kids spending mom and dads money will of course spend more to get less.

You can see how AMD is ready for the future because when the resolution is higher, the Ryzen's are equivalent, I'm changing my Intel and going to Ryzen

Multi-core is the future of gaming. As such, Ryzen and AMD will rise to the undisputed top if current architecture remains.

I'm really excited for the new i9 10 core CPU intel is gonna announce in january (or Q1 2020) for their new mainstream socket. I think less core count than the competition, higher power consumption, higher thermals and a higher price is just want consumers need and want right now. Not this "12 core" crap that is cheaper use less energy has lower thermals is already out and can be socketed into existing motherboards. I mean more value for a lower price? Who would want that?

Well, 3900x and GG. Cheapest, plenty of cores and same performance of more expensive CPUs. Gaming/streaming/editing.

Ryzen 9 3900x is best as it gives almost similiar performance and its way cheaper than those 2.

I will use it when i will build my own pc after 1 year. With rtx 2080 ti

Intel is still king for gaming. But its days are numbered. Consider how much single-threaded performance would have to be given up when additional mitigations need to be put in place to deal with newer speculative-execution vulnerabilities. Phoronix has an article that showed that the only way the 9900K could beat the 3900X in a number of their tests was to actually *_DISABLE_* the microcode updates meant to protect the damned thing!

This helps confirm my most likely choice. I'm impartial. Once you start going up to 1440p and 4k you easily see the difference is minimized. I know I'll be gaming in 4k eventually on this build. I'm running 1440p right now. Since the 3900x smokes the 9900k in most everything else it's the obvious choice here. So I'll be grabbing one soon.

I applaud amd for getting closer than ever, but Intel is still king. Especially after overclocking, since Ryzen cannot OC more than 100 or 200mhz without instability.

Looking at those scores it seems to me thats there is little point getting the 3950x over the 3900x?
