I've been to this location a number of times and, for a long time, the same grumpy old woman was always working behind the counter. I went in one day, and she wasn't there. I asked the new, younger lady behind the counter, "What happened to the mean old woman?" She said, "That's my mother. She's got cancer." I apologized, and the lady said, "Don't worry. I've said the same thing about her."

Dave: Been here since the 80s.
Dave: He's been serving like 30 years.

Window over his shoulder: FORTY SEVEN YEARS.

Italian immigrants have flocked to Kentucky and W Va to work in the coal mine industry for several decades. There's still a lot of italian families living in the area today. It's pretty easy to find good pizza in that part of the US.

A+ for Steve's people getting this turned around for the fight promo. Solid crew he's got.

That has been by far my favorite pizza. The owners are really really good people. My father dad when I was young and they helped on the funeral arrangements without asking because they thought it was the right thing to do.

For those that really don’t know, West Virginia had many Italians migrate to the state to work in the coal mines during the early 1900s most of the state’s cultural cuisines are based on Italian dishes. Famously the “pepperoni roll” was invented here to give Italian miners a easy on handed dish to eat while working in the mines. Some of the better quick serve/fast food Italian restaurants exist here.

I prefer lots of sauce and a little more on the doughy side than crispy side. This pie is right up my alley.

Been eating that pizza most of my life. Glad it got a respectable score. It's a hell of a lot better then Pies and Pints down the street.

That pizza has so much potential. Just a few more minutes in the oven and it could be in the 8s.

Dave you are still the OG hustler - all over the country. Half a billion in your back pocket and you are still hustling like it is day one!

I can't believe you tried Grazianos! I live about 45 minutes away and got some today. The one in Charleston is pretty good, but the one in Dunbar is AMAZING! Dunbar is only 5 miles or so from Charleston. That's the only 2 i know of. Glad you liked it and hope you enjoyed WV!

Pizza Place Pizza in Parkersburg WV (South side or North) has been around for decades and is Italian owned. We had a lot of immigrants from Italy back in the day but even still recent. As the owner and his sibling came here and has never left! It’s greasy but by FAR the best in Parkersburg!!! Thick or thin but I prefer thick!!!

Looks like the kind of pizza I'd get in Eastern Queens slice shops. Definitely got that nostalgic vibe, could probably hammer many of em
