I was one of the early adopters of Firefox back in the mid 2000's, but issues with performance and privacy have left me soured with the browser. Now I mainly use Vivaldi, which is perhaps not the best for privacy, but at least I knew that before adopting it, and I try to find fixes for it. Whereas what Firefox has become feels like a knife in the back, and so I would not go back to it. As others have pointed out, there's also Librewolf, but it functions more like a "private window" for when you don't want anything to get logged, not even history. However, for it to serve its purpose fully, you cannot install add-ons, as that would create a fingerprint and then you are no longer browsing anonymously.

You could always use something like Librewolf, which is a modded version of Firefox with all the telemetry and spookiness stripped out.

01:49 is it possible to disable ALL the google components (analytics, etc.), or is it not known for 100% whether we can disable ALL of them?..

Seeing you worry so much about privacy, which phone do you use and what do you recommend? (I used to care a lot more about privacy, but whit a device in my pocket that literally tracks me everywhere, I started to ignore it)

Thank you very much for your work. I wanted to know how you feel about the EinkBro browser on the phone, or what browser you would recommend for the phone.

I don't know what people complain about. I've been using Firefox again for about a year now and it's been great. If I do use a chromium based browser then it's probably brave

Even if someone uses librewolf, you are still supporting Mozilla by using their engine (gecko). I hope that all BIG foss projects like debian, red hat, etc come together for maintaining a fork of gecko..

Every update they bring tab bar back and add another useless button that takes a line of space on your screen
I hate this browser so much

I personally have no real issues with how Firefox is OOTB on desktop (Windows and Linux) and haven´t had any significant issues with it in the past 10 years of using it as my main browser but holy cow is it bad on mobile. Especially on iOS (But also Android) and comparing it to something like Brave or Edge then it becomes apparent that mobile is still not a priority for Mozilla after all these years.

Only way to get at least some funding back to Firefox development is supposedly using their paid apps like VPN, Pocket or Relay according to some comments i´ve seen floating around.

Well, I get your complaints (especially about the woke idealism), but the truth is that Mozilla is living in the real world where catering to every nerdy/FOSS purist demand is just not economically feasible...

Try Librewolf and Do a review video.
Or maybe a comparison video between this setup of Firefox vs Librewolf.
Btw this is a great video, keep doing amazing work ❤

Hi! Chromium based browsers work fine for you? I don't know why, but under Ubuntu, page scrolling is very slow for me, in comparison to firefox. And it makes unusable chromium browsers for surfing web pages, reading articles, etc.

You have to talk to me like a dummy because that is what I am. I follow you until the create user.js. How? I know how to create a new folder but not a new file. What do I past the code into?

Found this same problem, for years now I've been using Brave pretty much since it appeared. Google announce it would kill off manifest v3 it was time to switch back to Firefox. Although I am looking forward to try the Arc browser, seems like an experience of it's own, unfortunately as of the time of writing this is only available for MacOS.

Man, I used to think that other Browsers like Brave, Opera, Edge are the ones that shove too much in your face. Firefox was the browser that only browses the internet. Come to think of it, that's how bad it has been, and the fact that it's normalised is another cherry-on-top (/s). I'm kinda fine with the Firefox services like Mobile, Relay, etc, but Google analytics? Pocket sharing everything with third party advertisers? Thank god I didn't sign up for pocket either.
