Here I'm going to show you how to properly fix a puncture in your Tubeless setup. Tubeless Tires are great on the trail with a simple bacon strips fix, but when you get home fixing the puncture permanently is super easy and important.

Just a heads up, the vulcanizing compound should dry before you stick the patch on, it's like an activator

those patches bring back memories of my childhood

Over a decade of trail riding with tubeless tyres. Not once have I had to do this.

I did this a while ago and was a little worried cause those patches are usually for tubes but I'm glad to find i wasn't the only one doing it

I usually carry an inner tube in case I get a puncture. Only a few extra grams of weight. It’s worth the peace of mind 😊

I never thought about using those clamps to fix the patch down! I've got a few and they've now found an extra use! Brilliant little video!😁😁😁

Thanks for the video. Rode a gravel tire for about a thousand miles with a bacon strip. I now know that I shouldn't do this.

And that is why folks I have Tannus Armour (i run tubes under it 700x 30-47c since I am using a 29er tire) for 7mos and 7mos puncture free. Doing bike deliveries for 7mos about 40-100km per day. Totally recommend! 👍👍👍

hah I thought I was the only one who took the time to do this - good to know I'm not insane

Extra tip. Add a little bit of superglue at the external part.

I don't know man, at that point I might as well just use tubes.

I wouldn't claim to a certainty of this patching method on bike tires. However Ive used this methon on my car tires and own pretty much the same kit for years now. The tires patched have never caused issues or slipped out. I really can't imagine it being that different for bikes.

you can also just apply the patch, then put a tube in the tyre and pump it up. this way there is pressure securing the patch. I have also done it out when riding, and the stickyness of the patch and pressure of the tube is enough to hold it in place without the glue

I’ve had patches come loose from some sort of chemical reaction with the sealant. Not to be contrarian, but I’ve had plugs last the duration of a tires mileage, and now don’t even bother anymore.

I tried but my sealant seems to desolve rubber glue. How long should you leave pach to dry? 20 min, 2 hours, a day? Ist there some sealant that's better for pa he's than other?

Is it worth going tubeless 🤔
For me tubes give me the opportunity to easily change tyres for different riding situations, without having to own multiple wheels

I understand why it’s just faster easier to buy a new tube or tire than to spend time fixing the one you have that is damaged

then what's the point of the sealant? I was under the impression it worked into the hole to help seal after a puncture. If i have to plug the hole then reseal it any way after cleaning a bunch of sealant out wouldn't a tube and patch kit be simpler and cleaner to use?

You can apply some fire to that glue, like 2~3 seconds of burning, next you put the patch and it gets strongly glued to the surface...

I’ve given up on road tubeless 3 times now but when I was a glutton for punishment, actual tire patches worked way better for me. The tube patches were too thin for 80 psi
