Bayes introduced Bayesian statistics, but this formula wasn’t named after him until he passed away. Nowadays his work is a major topic of discussion

It's so interesting how something simple-sounding like Probability is more unintuitive than something that seems complex like Calculus to a human brain

I love you and your videos Grant you have been so inspiring over the last few years - thanks so much for your contributions to the Mathematics community

The fourth level is explaining it to someone else, as that's always one of the hardest things to do and the best indication you truly know the concept.

I’d say I’m level 2.5 I can derive Bayes’s Theorem if I forget it so I think that means I understand it, but apart from an accuracy of a medical test and the questions that follow that I couldn’t tell you very many uses for it

I always wondered why genetics/statisticians experts in court state "the probability of the genetic match is....".

when the real question that should be asked is "given that my client is innocent, whats the probability of a match?"

the latter is much smaller than the former, but is the correct question.

Actually you can get probability of E happening as E not happening while H happens + E not happening while H not happening so you actually don't need to know what the probability of E is happening to know what is the probability of E while H happens is, which is mind blowing

Hey bro, need some help.
Make a video on Fermat's Principle. Why does it works?
How does Mathematical Analysis support it?
I never found satisfactory videos about this topic.
Saw that you are dealing with optics. I have really great hopes from you. I think you are the only one who can explain this property. Please do!!
