Fun fact: most servers have a discord bot that tells where a mine is place in build logs. To hid it from the build logs, drop it on the ground and arm it without picking it up.

Boy, did I get lucky with a mine. I found a humvee with a glow plug, but had no battery. The nearby industrial zone seemed looted, so I figured someone else is after the humvee. I put down a mine in a loot hotspot near the vehicle. Came back later to find a body! He had a battery, and the humvee was still there!

Okay a little more he didn’t explain completely. 1. If the landmine is badly damaged it is guaranteed to explode if you disarm it. 2. Using a lock pick is a guaranteed disarm as long as it’s above badly damaged. 3. It can definitely kill you not just knock you out. Pretty sure there is a chance it just straight up kills you (idk the percentage) no matter how geared you are. 4. You can disarm a landmine 3 times before it will explode in your face next try regardless if you use a lock pick or not. I’ve got 5k+ hours and I’ve definitely died to multiple single landmines while full health and fully geared. Great tip video as always! I just got all this game knowledge stored up and always like to help any newer players with it. (Edit) I’m pretty sure you only die to a single landmine if your plate carrier is damaged already and goes ruined during the explosion.

I remember disarming every Landmine I came across whenever I had an appropriate tool and it worked everytime with no explosion so I had no idea they had a 40% chance to fail shit scared the hell outta me when I finally failed a disarm.

Didn't know they could blow up if you try to deactivate it. Maybe I'll just shoot them from now on 😅

Put it on the open side of an unlocked gate. Works every time

Fun fact: You can disarm mines with a shovel as well, but it’ll do a lot of durability damage to it.

I like to put them at the top of ladders Because by the time you see them you're already in the animation to get up the ladder

If you place two landmines next to eachother it will kill whoever steps on it, I always double up in the bushes around my base

Combine this in a IED with toxic gas. With a tripwire or manually controlled. It will knock them out, break their legs and poison them all at the same time. But it will not immediately kill them. They will wake up in the most horrible condition possible in the game. True suffering.

so funny story regarding landmines. so i was semi new to dayz at this time and i saw a player's base. being the smart boy i am i walked without a care in the world to the base and unlocked the pad lock on the door then just stole everything i could. being the even smarter boy i am i put on the guile gear i got from the chest and such then waited for the base owner to return. him and his friend show up and are confused about how their base that was apparently surrounded by a minefield was raided. turns out i somehow without trying weaved in and out of mines 2 times. i then yelled "MAGIC" before lobbing a grenade into the field and running off. i have no clue if they survived.
