Victor Davis Hanson is a renowned classicist, military historian, and political commentator. He is the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow in Residence in Classics and Military History at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. Among numerous other awards, Victor was presented the National Humanities Medal in 2007. In this episode, Robinson and Victor discuss the 2024 presidential election. More particularly, they review some of the main arguments for and against electing Donald Trump or Kamala Harris. This includes their records, domestic and foreign policies, recent assassination attempts, and more. Victor is a wise man! I lost a dear, gay friend of many years when he found out I voted for Trump in 2020. Another elder Hispanic lady friend, born in Texas over 80 years ago, also quit speaking to me for the same reason. Oddly, I never discussed politics with EITHER of these people! Both ASKED me who I was voting for in 2020. Neither has spoken to me since! Years long & close friendships ended. Tolerance?

This is absolutely on point. I adore my coworkers. Throughout our MANY conversations about anything under the sun, I caught on that they ALL have bought into the ‘Trump is Hitler’ rhetoric. I would nonchalantly change the subject or just purposely not react and move on with my day. I don’t think a single one of them had a clue that I was FIRMLY on the Trump train. Until Wednesday morning. The instant they caught on that I wasn’t devastated and on the verge of hysteria like they were that morning, they started treating me very differently. The nature of our conversations has completely changed. I have never said one word about the election, the candidates, the results, nothing. I treated them as my best work friends for months upon months of this campaigning without them having any idea that I VEHEMENTLY disagreed with them.
They can’t do the same.
