I just moved to California from Tennessee; I'm a priest at an Anglican parish near San Francisco (we are a Traditional, Conservative parish). Please keep me in prayer!

Born and raised in Southern Cal. Stay and fight might be an option, but I've been there. As a Christian for over 20+ years and I'm 53, it is a tough battle here. So, I'm ready to move out. It had already been dead years ago. I've seen Orthodox and Catholics are wavering or already becoming weak or turning Liberal by giving up being conservative or giving up the fight. And, don't get my started with Schwarzenegger because he is more of a Liberal Republican. Just as any hardcore Republicans here will tell you this. For one, he supports abortion. And Regan well, of course, he was here. I don't live far from where he used to live in Simi Valley before he died. But that's not a good reason to stay here. Just watch that the next Governer will still be a Liberal (I may be wrong but I have a hunch). Well, I repsect the decision of any, stay or move out.

Do you believe that to be a good Catholic you have to be a conservative?

Just moved from Los Angeles to Houston, Texas, back with family. I just go where God calls me because he’s never wrong and does everything, right on time. :)

My manager at an old job was a California expat who inherited a home in my state of Mississippi. From what he told me it just isn't sustainable to live as a middle class person in that state. Mississippi is pretty bad, the poverty is near third world levels but middle class in other states is rich here. I honestly believe every state has its issues be they environmental, economical, etc. It all depends on what one is willing & able to tolerate & live with. I'm personally thinking of moving to Louisiana so I can be closer to a substantial Catholic community, but I do hold some honor bound loyalty to my home state that is probably a uniquely southern ideology.
