I have watched nearly all my close friends who can't make a decision without consulting their wife's. It makes me laugh how they try to justify why they allow it. They are all good friends but they are very weak as men.

Almost all wives are demanding, it's a very hard thing to regulate if you are the husband. If you don't handle it exactly right and at the right time (and some times I don't) she will remind you of how quickly, easily, painfully and expensively she can divorce you, take the kids, etc. Its a direct result of feminism plus the blue pill/gynocentric Western society we live in. I'm kind of trapped but, for those of you not married, think long and hard. You cannot make a women "feel" a certain way and, even when they recognize you make the money and are the boss, they will pull the whiny, demanding "do it my way" nonsense. They don't have any fear whatsoever as they hold all the cards in divorces and breakups.

I really need to be unplugged. I went from being a person that doesn’t like being told what to do. Now I’m basically subservient to my wife. Getting granular about personality dynamics is important. The way a man feels toward individual women is not necessarily how he feels towards all women at all times. The map is not reality.

One of two reasons I never married. The other is, I'm loyal, and I demand Loyalty in return. I'm NOT subservient, nor do I expect a woman to be. I also know Respect is a two-way street! And women these days do NOT respect Men. Not in the least.
Today (March 2022) I'm in my mid-50's. I live alone in my house, which is paid for. I work part-time, living a semi-retired lifestyle. I do so in peace and quiet. My only regret is not having children of my own. But without a Loyal spouse, it's best I didn't. I've seen many men who's ex-wives turned their kids against them. As a child, my own mother tried to do the same to me. And when she couldn't, she hated me. Oh well!
More than any other quality, Loyalty is the most important, in my humble opinion. Followed by Respect. These qualities are also lacking among my extended family; siblings, aunts, uncles...
I just don't care about those Toxic people anymore.
Today, it would take someone of exceptional quality to get me to reconsider my solo life. I don't believe such a woman exists. All evidence points to the opposite.

Before someone screams Misogyny, NO! It's based on my life experience; and the way I was treated over the years.
When you knock someone down for 50+ years, you cannot expect them to have any regard for you whatsoever.

the moment my ex and I got an apartment together is when she changed... she started bossing me around, making my life miserable, telling me every little thing I didn't and didn't do, literally putting every blame on me just because... etc. our 3 year lease is up in September and my ass is out, im not even going to tell her where im going, im just gone. Thank God I didn't get married to her. I did end up paying for about 80% of the bills these last 3 years but I consider it not as big a loss if I were to get married and or have kids.
