The very fact that child adoption centers don't check on background of the adopters is horrifying. Even worse that government is letting the people to be therapists without medical license.

It's so much worse than this; she began vomiting on and pooping herself while in there. The "therapist" told her that if she wants to die, she can stay in her poop and vomit. The other one calls her a quitter, Candace says, "No." After that, she stopped responding. They unwrap her and say, "Oh, there she is, sleeping in her vomit." Candace was declared brain dead and pulled off life support in 2000.

They only recieved 16 year sentances each(the therapists) for reckless child abuse... The "mom" recieved a 4 year suspended sentenence for neglect and child abuse.

This is why no one thinks the justice system is fair....

I made this comment only remembering what I last learned about it and that was through Game Theory YEARS AGO when MatPat was first covering it. After that I never looked into it or did follow ups cause that was not my obligation. For those who think Im my initial info is wrong? Currently yes but back then no.

I went through the same treatment ..with that same therapist...in the same place in evergreen colorado. Connel watkins did 10 years in prison. I still have no closure 30 years later.

I remember hearing the full Audio of this so called "Therapy" It is heart wrenching and horrifying to hear, She was screaming on top of her lungs at the time she couldn't breath. It was around 30 minutes that they instead helped her choose to ignore that took her life in the end. The worst part is that during the time when she was pleading to her her go cuz she couldn't breathe. They chose to ignore her cries for help that resulted in her Demise.

What’s jaw dropping beyond the fact that anyone thought it would work is that the combined weight of the adults were 673 pounds. Which means that not even the average person would be able to overcome the weight because unless you’re used to dealing with lifting and moving those kinds of weights you’re screwed

I never did the ReBirth stuff but I found out a few years back my parents were instructed to bind me or hold me down and immobilize me for as long as it took until I would calm down. Which is so bizarre to me because I only remember a few instances of this happening but if I was "freaking out" it was because my older brother (who has severe anger issues even up until this day) used to beat the shit outta me constantly.

I think a mandatory checkup should be done on the adopted or fostered kids every month to check the homes and the kids physical and mental states
